Review summary

Over all this trip was OK, It was booked as a 9 hour excursion. When we arrived it was changed to 3.5 hrs. The video on the excursion page showed A tour going thru a Jungle with bikes, the level was listed as Strenuous activity level. It was mild at best as there were 7 and 8 year kids zooming around down the 1/2 mile stone road. On the video for the Cenote someone climbing down a ladder with a hard hat going down into the Cenote. My wife had to work herself up to doing it as she has fears of being enclosed. Once we saw the Cenote it looked like a pond in someone back yard ()see pics) with concrete walls and piping sending water into a muddy pond. They fixed a authentic Mexican lunch which was pre made tacos sitting on a gas grill with no propane tank attached being put on our plate as if it were freshly made there. At the beach for the paddle boarding experience there were 7 paddleboards for 32 people. All the kiddos took the paddle boards and we decided to just sit at the beach and wait till we arrived safely back on the ship to voice our concerns. THIS ENTIRE CURISE WAS BOOKED ON THE EXPECTATION THAT WE WOULD SEE CENOTES. This was our 4th trip to Mexico, We never got to see one as the excursion we booked was a complete Joke, so much so that Royal Caribbean refunded most of our excursion cost. I still want to see a Cenote, will probably fly there instead of being on the time restraint of a cruise. Royal didn't want to give us more than 50 percent of the cost back initially. I should not have to negotiate our refund as everyone on the tour was disanointed.

Awesome, we arrived early and they allowed us to go right thru security and board the ship!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Over all the food experience was good, however on the last night we had a 9pm reservation for the Solarium, 9 minutes after being seated they asked us if we wanted anything else from the buffet as they closed at 9pm and were starting to take it down. If you are going to take a 9pm reservation you should not close your restaurant at 9pm. We had ordered a bottle of wine, had to cancel as there was no time to enjoy.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Pools were good, hot tubs is where we spent most of our time, they were good.

Ship tip

It seemed as though the goal was to upsell at every turn. Always trying to add an expense to our trip.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

2 out of 5
This port is as Authentic as they come, unfortunately it was not what we were expecting. This port will continue to build and grow over the next 10 to 15 years and would be good to come back to then. Costa maya is impoverished and a poor area. The excursion we booked at this port was not what we expected either.
