Royal Caribbean an did a great job again… well organized especially with the Covid issues and protections… We felt very save on board. The on board use of the Royal App was problematic… erroneous messages that reservations were sold out., or one of my party was not recognized as meeting the criteria to go to a show, or contact guest services to upgrade my account information etc.
Embarkation

Fast but slightly confusing with numerous lines and little direction as to where to proceed.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Main dining room food was typical and in some cases not spectacular. Food obviously prepared hours before, portions and balance of vegetables vs main component not excellent. Dried out meat ( pork chop) served once. Wait staff was excellent at the anytime dining table… they corrected any issues quickly. Anytime dining required waiting on arrival even if one had a reservation… Which is not exactly in the spirit of “Anytime”.
The best food, presentation and service was at specialty restaurants… in the future I may increase my travel budget to eat dinners at these restaurants more so than the main dining rooms… the quality was by far superior.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
At my age, water slides, slides, rock walls are not a draw… we enjoyed the solarium even though it was warmer that other parts of the ship due to the restricted winds due to the shades and roofing. The fitness center was very well equipped and overall the spa offered nice services even though they offer Quasi medical (alternative/holistic/eastern) which I don’t subscribe to.
Entertainment

Professional ice and theatre shows very enjoyable… Even went more than once?
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Very nice to have people to try follow the Ritz Carlton model of first name recognition… Wait staff in the main dining room, specialty restaurants and in general were outstanding. Room attendant did a very good job and worked within our schedule on board. … and we do like the towel pets!

Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Slightly small… hard to get past the bed to the other side or to the deck. Deck was a good size… I’m not a large person either … if I could afford a larger (sq foot) room I’d jump at it… if other cruise lines offer larger rooms at the same pricing… it would be a consideration in my future cruise selection process.
Ship tip
Book shows and restaurant times early… don’t trust the “App” !
