Review summary

Symphony is amazing. Mexico maybe isn’t for us.

Embarkation

The new cruise terminal at Miami is simply fantastic. We were curb to ship in less than 20 minutes. It was brilliant!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We took the ultimate dinning package so are in the specialty restaurants every night of the cruise. All were fabulous with a very special recommendation for 150 Central Park which is just amazing.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We love the oasis class ships. There is so much to see and do and the flow of the neighbourhoods is such a clever design.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Brilliant! We saw all of the shows and enjoyed everything on offer. Hairspray is a must see and rivals anything you will see in the west end or Broadway. The Aqua show is always a thrill.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Typical RCI. Nothing is too much trouble and every crew member had a smile on their face. Our cabin attendant was fantastic.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We have sailed on Oasis of the Seas in the past so knew what to expect but Symphony takes it to a whole new level. The ship is just beautiful. Great flow due to the neighbourhood concept. Interesting artwork throughout the ship and a generally upscale feeling. You won’t be disappointed.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had an ocean view balcony cabin on the 14th deck. The room was spotlessly clean and nicely appointed. It’s everything you need and more.

Ship tip

Book everything you can before you leave home so that you can just have an amazing time. We pre-booked the drinks package, internet, dinning package and most importantly show reservations. One other top tip - if you do buy the ultimate dining package then make sure to make your individual restaurant reservations soon after embarkation.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Love love love Miami. We did a private Segway tour the day before the cruise and it was an absolute blast. We stayed in the Mondrian South Beach which is a super cool hotel.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

We had a great day here. We hired a cabana for the day (RC excursion) and it was just superb.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

3 out of 5
Here we did a jeep drive which tbh wasn’t all that great. The vehicles were barely serviceable and things were highly disorganised. But hey - it’s all part of the adventure!

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
Cozumel is what it is. For those that have been you know. It gets more and more tacky but you always have the option to stay onboard.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
What an absolute triumph for RC. The island is just beautiful with every detail taken care of. Fantastic

Disembarkation

We walked ourselves off and it was easy and straight forward. We were soon in our rental car and on the way to a week in Orlando!

Totally agree. Symphony is one of our favorite ships and Mexico is one of our least favorite destinations.
