Cruise director was worst I have ever had in 8 cruises. Ship was impressive in size but crew could not deliver any Wow factor!
I will stick with Carnival in future. They do so much better and make you feel more valued.

Buffets were ok.
Main dining had trouble serving hot food.
Hot Dogs on Boardwalk were terrible.
Tried to eat sushi 4 times and each time was told not now, we’re giving sushi class.
Onboard Activities

Pools always crowded.
We were suppose to get 1 hr of rock climbing for our family. We were denied, and told that it was discontinued, that we should not have been promised. (I had 6 teenagers that weren’t happy)
Entertainment

Hairspray very good, but got boring in the middle.
I enjoyed all musicians.
Symphony did not follow their own rules with regards to shows/reservations. 10 minutes prior they’re suppose to let non reservation folks in. Sometimes 10 minutes after show time they still kept us waiting and there were plenty of seats.

Dining room waiters at dinner were great. Lots of dude bartenders. Room steward not good.
Ship Quality

Very clean.
Inside balcony rooms forfeit all privacy. Had to keep curtain closed at all times. Saw lots of naked folks across boardwalk from us.

Was not clean when we got on ship. Food crumbs on couch. Hair.

All water sports sold out
Had to fight to get a beach chair
3 people in my party were stung by jellyfish.
Bottom of ocean was disgusting with the seaweed and mud on ocean flooor.
I’m surprised you didn’t accuse the ship of almost sinking and running out of food. Also, what kind of genius doesn’t reserve show times or other activities when you have 6 teenagers in your party??? And Carnival!? The poor mans cruise-line. Sounds right up your alley.
The fact that you need the Cruise Director to be a determining factor in how much you enjoy a cruise says it all!
Wow, some people just seem to like complaining. Makes them feel special, since their thoughts are do different than everyone else’s.

Wow factor on Carnival? LOL.
I've been on a number of carnival cruises. And if you get a good cheaper deal, it's worth it. Otherwise you can't compare newest and best to mediocre.
But I do recognize the person writing the review.
After reading many reviews, there's always people who lie about everything. Nothing was good. And then they are like, barely survive on sandwiches. Since all food is either cold or disgusting.
I have sailed on the Symphony, November 2018 and May 2019. I don't even recognize the ship you're describing. I had the complete opposite experience, twice.
I agree. Cruising is not for you. You say Carnival is better. I don’t see any other cruises listed for you except this one. I really feel bad for you to not like a cruise. Cruising is the best vacation ever
Sounds like cruising is probably not for you. You did not seem to be happy with much of anything. I never understand how some people can be so miserable when on a vacation and on a cruise. Apparently they have an incredible job and home life to find ways to be upset on a cruise.
