a good cruise

Sail Date: February 18, 2007

Room Type: Balcony

I thought the service was poor. The staff always had a quick answer that didn't solve the problem. The dining staff was good - it just seemed like the rest of the staff did the minimum. The food was okay. Breakfast and luch were fine- dinners were just okay. The last 2 nights of the (10 day) cruise the food was excellent. The other nights it was fair at best.

The cruise destinations were fantastic and the weather was great. We had a great time but I would recommend a different cruise line.

Pros: the weather was great and we had fun islands

Cons: Food was okay, service was below-average, no dry clean towels at the pool

Recommends Sun Princess? No.

Ship Quality
Our ship didn't have the "movie under the stars that Princess advertises. It also didn't have restaurants to upgrade to. The Steak Loft was the same food from the kitchen but for a $15 upgrade per person.
Entertainment
Children's Programs
Not many children were on the ship but the staff did a great job making it fun.
Food and Dining
Anytime Dining isn't anytime. You have to request it.
Cabin / Stateroom
This was an older ship. It wasn't that clean and was worn.
Service and Staff
Waitstaff was great. The overall staff did the minimum.
