Really enjoyed the cruise experience(s) overall, especially crew and Halong Bay. Was actually on for the Hong Hong to Brisbane cruise then stayed for the Brisbane to Sydney cruise and the Sydney to Brisbane cruise .... and this was where the 'lows' were experienced. Although these were 3 separate bookings, Princess deemed that in terms of onboard entitlements, that it would count as only 2. There was no previous advice given, or even advice given on the ship of this decision before it happened and was chased up. (I wasn't the only passenger who had one cruise count deducted.) Still trying to get an explanation from Princess as to how this could happen. Sadly, it has detracted from what had been otherwise enjoyable onboard experiences.
Embarkation

A bit of a delay initially.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Always ate at the Horizon Court buffet and always very satisfied.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
I always enjoy trying all types of activities run by the Entertainment Team on cruises (e.g. trivias, bean bag toss, shuffleboard, bowls, game shows etc). However, on this cruise, due to the Team being understaffed, there were far less options than previously experienced. The Team did a great job to do what they could and made what they did do very enjoyable, but because of the staffing issues, some of the activities named were not run even once and others were limited.
Entertainment
1 out of 5
Really enjoyed all of those performances attended ..... and experienced more than usual due to the lack of Entertainment Team activities. There was a singer/guitarist named Jay who really was exceptional.
Service and Staff
1 out of 5
Cannot speak highly enough of the staff. Always friendly and efficient, from Buffet Stewards to Maître d' and from Blue Boys to Guest Services Officers.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Given the age of the ship, it is in good condition and the public areas are very well maintained by the tireless efforts of the Housekeeping crew.
Cabin / Stateroom

Ship tip
Take full advantage of the International Cafe. Coffee you pay for but the snacks are all free and available 24/7.
This port was the highlight of the cruise as I kayaked on Halong Bay amongst the 'limestone' formations and a fishing village. Breathtaking, tranquil with unique scenery. One of the best excursions as well organised time-wise and for what was included.
Great place to easily get the feel for local / Indonesian culture, as long as you avoid the 'tourist spots'. Travelled around with some crew and experienced street food and local 'villages'.
Sadly we didn't berth at the OCT near the Opera House but there was still time and was still able to get public transport, after a little walk, to visit sights that Sydney is known for plus others off the beaten track.
