Review summary

I enjoyed the cruise, Our group of 8 people had a fantastic time from what everyone says. Having a clean ship and excellent food made all the difference in the world.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Princess scheduled loading times for large groups of passengers instead of everyone showing up at once and standing in never-ending lines. Nice. Same on the way out.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food in the scheduled dining was excellent. Every night we had the very best service from servers Kong and Surachai'; they were on the spot to deliver food and drinks, remove plates, recommend dishes. They went above and beyond. The International Café was a little glass food display case serving desserts and sandwiches 24 hours per day, that was handy. The Horizon buffet for breakfast and lunch was very good. Fresh salad and fruit, meats, vegetables, bread. We didn't try out any 'pay per person' restaurants but heard good things from others,

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We walked decks, my husband used the pool and spa. We tried the casino.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
My favorite was the duo violinist and pianist. They also had a very good band that made the rounds to different lounges.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward Louis did a fantastic job keeping our room in order. I asked him for a pitcher of water the first day and he made sure I received a fresh pitcher every morning. Waiters Kong and Surichai were our waiters in scheduled dining every evening. I wrote about them earlier so will not repeat. Their service was excellent. The bar tender Jonathan in the Lounge Bar played his ukulele every night and people came over to the bar just to hear him as he is pretty good at it.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The elevator and floor numbers are confusing. Some elevators go to only certain floors. Our room number was 715 and neighboring rooms were in the 600's but were all on the 12th floor.... confusing. But, I'm giving it 5 stars for cleanliness. Room, halls, food areas, everywhere.... very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Room is small, twin beds are small, bath is small.... but, what else would I expect, it's a ship. Louis kept that cabin clean. The white sheets and bedding were clean.

Ship tip

Check prices on things like drinks before you go. Drinks have to be bought on board except for 1 bottle of wine per person. Drink costs are high if you drink a couple.
