Splendour of the Seas | Jul 17, 2015 | 8 Night Greece & Turkey (Venice Roundtrip)

Sail Date: July 17, 2015

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

We will make sure to recommend this cruise to our friends.  We loved sitting on our balcony and enjoyed seeing all of the greek isles - well worth the added price.

Cabin / Stateroom
We were lucky and was on the correct side of the ship for all of the best views. Balcony is a must for this cruise.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
We had only one port that was tendered and was only able to tender off one side of the ship which meant longer wait times. Otherwise embarkation and disembarkation was quick and lines moves quickly.
Ship Quality
The ship is older and smaller, but clean and well kept. You appreciate the smaller ship since some of the ports are small and that means less tourist and not as crowded.
Destinations and Excursions
Booked our tours through Mileage Plus, best decision ever. Our groups were small - at the most 9 people total and tour guide provided lots knowledge of the area.
Onboard Activities
Not really needed due to the ports.
Fly Boys were excellent. Some of the other acts were low budget and cheesy.
Service and Staff
Dave and Indrasen were in the dining room and provided excellent service and also provided us with great information about the next port.
Food and Dining
Venice, Italy
Dubrovnik, Croatia
Very crowded! 2-3 cruise ships were in port.
Corfu, Greece
Santorini, Greece
Beautiful! Don't do the donkeys - take the gondola!!
Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey
Make sure you get on a tour! Ephesus was awesome with so much history!
Piraeus (Athens), Greece
Be sure to tour the Acropolis.
Katakolon (Olympia), Greece
Make sure to tour Olympia.

This cruise is only once a year. It was hot and humid. We brought our own water bottles which helped to cut down on buying water.
