I highly recommend Princess Cruises and, particularly, the Sky Princess. There's nothing like being on a new ship. This was our 8th cruise, and our best based on the ship and crew.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
The medallion embarkation process was swift and painless. From the time the shuttle dropped us off until we were on the ship was not much more than five minutes. The Ocean Ready app and the pre-shipped Medallion make this the best emarkation process in the industry.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Top notch service and food in the dining room, buffet, and specialty restaurants. The Crown Grill continues to be a favorite. Very much liked the new French bistro. The Sushi bar was awesome, but I wish they had hot sake. Very much appreciate that the pizzeria makes a gluten free pizza crust. As for the bars.... Goo Spirits was absolutely awesome. The bartenders are amazing, both in talent and personality. Love the specialty drink menu. Also want to commend the Take 5 bartenders.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The only activities I took place in were the pools and the casino. I always prefer the pool on the aft deck. For some reason, this pool was not heated, unlike the main pools. This was important enough to me to knock a star off the rating.
The casino was great. I really enjoyed all of the casino staff. Very friendly, and always remembered my name.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Great jazz band in the Take 5 jazz lounge. Enjoyed all of the bands across the ship. The string quartet was great as well.
Children's Programs
We did not have any kids with us
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All staff were top notch. I want to especially note those who gave above & beyond service:
Ryan and Lou, Good Spirits bar.
Helena, suite concierge.
Monica, casino supervisor.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
I was a new ship, so, amazingly clean and new looking. The staff kept everything clean and wiped down. With the emergence of the coronavirus emergency, the staff was going well beyond normal cleaning processes. I believe the captain and staff responded admirably against the unforeseen threat.
Cabin / Stateroom

Beautiful suite, as always. We always select the suites on the stern so we can hear the ship's wake at night.
Ship tip
Eat at all of the specialty restaurants. Definitely visit the Good Spirits bar. If you want a pool with warm water, use the main pool. If you want a pool with a beautiful view, but cool water, use the aft Wake View pool. If you book a suite, there is a dedicated suite concierge that will handle everything for you.
I preferred the old docking pier that was at the main town. The new docking pier is surrounded by a purpose built cruise tourist village. All of the shop keepers, even Diamonds International, were catcalling everyone to come into the store. Seemed a bit obnoxious to me. Did not do any excursions this trip.
Disappointed with the Beach Resort excursion. It was advertised to be at an all inclusive resort. That is NOT the case. It's a beach front tourist shopping strip with the lounges crammed together so tight they are nearly touching. You cant relax because another peddler bugs you every minute. There are rip tides at this beach, as evidenced by one cruiser who was caught in one. He eventually, and luckily, got himself out by grabbing a pier about a quarter mile down the beach. There were no lifeguard personnel to help.
The Princess part of disebarkation was quick and easy. Getting through customs was the lengthiest I've ever experienced. The customs line was at least an hour.
I’m booked on 12/11/21 and am looking forward to sailing on her! Have been to most of the ports except for Routan and am looking into different excursions this tie!
