Review summary

We love Regent. The food is always splendid and the crew is always fabulous. But "Navigator" was an astonishing disappointment for us. The ship seems old, and is incredibly noisy. Even in our Penthouse suite midships, we were disturbed with appalling noises and vibrations from the engines. No one from the crew made any reference to these startling noises...they were like aural Emperor's new Clothes.."if we don't mention it, it isn't there."

Also we were disappointed that the Captain did not sound the ships whistle entering or leaving ports. When asked, he called it "noise pollution!" Well! I guess he doesn't realize how much we passengers like it. And the ports make a lot of money off these cruises, so I'll bet they like it, too!

Please, Regent Powers that Be, tell your captains to sound that horn...or maybe we will switch to Disney.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was wonderful...especially the buffets. Yes, the buffets! Everything was always fresh and so very tasty. And the pastries!! Oh my.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Most entertainment was scheduled either too late for us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
No cruise line anywhere can possibly have staff as fine as Regent. Their only desire is to please their guests.

Ship Quality

This ship seems old. The stateroom furnishings are tired-out. And, the engines are alarmingly noisy, with severe vibrations once in a while.

Cabin / Stateroom

A little threadbare, but comfortable. However, I would much prefer a Keurig coffeemaker, that made a real cup of coffee. As always, the butler made everything fine.
