Alaska Great - COVID at the end, not so good by SanJoseDan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Correction and updates to Cruise Review submitted for a cruise dated May 8th. Actual Cruise dates, as shown here, were: May 29, - June 5, 2022. By previous RCCL standards, the cruise was a little less than great. There seemed to be many inexperienced staff - not unexpected in these times. The lack of printed information on ports was very inconvenient and disappointing. Not being able to see our cabin account from the TV (as in many hotels and previous RCCL cruises) was inconvenient. The Crap Table in the casino was never staffed (we were told there was no experienced staff yet - our Princess Cruise last Fall had a fully staffed Casino, including the Crap Table). Ironically, the CDC lifted its COVID test requirement on June 12th. If we had taken the cruise one week later, I would not have had to isolate in Vancouver.

Delightful by dmhrabik

Loved the ship size easy to find things . The lobby smelled like smoke and windows were dirty, but everyone was friendly and the food was great

Alaskan Cruise 2022 by Rubyjpi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Overall it was an ok cruise. If I sail to Alaska again I would not do this ship. It needs a lot of work. Out of 26 cruises this was in the bottom 5. All really had to do with the ship. In the main dining room there were broken windows. Ship has only been out of dry dock for 3 weeks. I really don’t think they were broken after dry dock. There was pieces of railings missing. No late night food places open. If you are hungry between 3pm and 5pm you need to go to a little stand in the solarium. A little small stand for so many people. We were very lucky with weather. We took large coats and it was sunny and warm in every port. I do think I would try a different time of year if I cruise Alaska again. But not this ship

The Alaska Experience by dkdisney

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This was our second time to Alaska on a cruise ship. The first time was on the Crown Princess in 2015. Both cruises were incredible....you won't be disappointed!

First Holiday Cruise by AntAndAng

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I do 3 cruises a year. 2 months prior, I was the MSC Meraviglia. It was amazing! Out of all the cruises I have ever been on, the Serenade of the Seas was the worst. Nevertheless, it was a vacation, I had time off, & I was with family. So, I made the most of it. Truly thankful. I am scheduled to go on the Serenade of the Seas again in September 2022 for an Alaskan cruise. I am hopeful that my experience will be better than my last experience. I will definitely plan different.

Fun Christmas Cruise by mikedamico17

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas

Cruise was fun. Great service. Cozumel was a little pushy in the sales side. Honduras, West Bay had really cool little stores and If you leave the port in Costa Maya you get a whole better experience.

Hubby and I both work on average 10 hours a day so we needed to de-stress and relax and this cruise was perfect for that.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Serenade of the Seas

It was for the first anniversary of my dad’s passing and we brought my mom to the place we loved vacationing together because we didn’t want to be home…so that being said it was as good as it could be considering we are all still grieving…oh but my dad loved the ship & the sea 🌊💔⚓️ we brought Christmas presents for room attendant and other staff we met and decorated our door. It was good…

First cruise since 2018, capacity was 55%, not crowded. Excellent staff, attendants, cooks, constantly cleaning and making sure everything was safe and good. Thoroughly enjoyed the time away!

First RCCL post-pandemic cruise by Run2Wanderlust

This was an okay cruise for a last minute getaway. I don’t know that I would choose this ship or embarkation port again if planning in advance.
