Review summary

Ship is older ( 20 years) but in excellent shape. In fact, if I could afford it, I would love to take the 9 month around-the-world cruise the ship will be taking later this year! Crew is well-trained and excellent service ( except for the once-a-day room service). I prefer this size ship.

Visited the spa twice for messages— heavenly. Salt water pool was good , a little crowded.

Entertainment

R.C.’s entertainment always falls short but then the only other cruise line we travel is Disney and they set a high standard for entertainment. The comedian was good. We enjoyed the Marriage Game ( a version of The Newlywed Game). Other than that, entertainment is sub-par.

Room steward was overworked because they cut the staff in half — only one service a day instead of 2 which every cruise line has done for years. The Maitre d’ stopped by our table every meal. Excellent! Usually a Maitre d’ stops by the first day and the last day to pick up a tip.

My husband and I took this ship in 2019 as he surprised me for our 30th wedding anniversary. It is sad that there is a cut in employees and honestly if I want extra towels I would call the housekeeping Department and the head of housekeeping most likely would tell one of his or her employees to bring up some towels. Also, I would tell our cabin Steward to leave us extra towels. I like a lot of towels. If you want an animal towel you could ask for it obviously because they stopped making them each night. I do use those towels that they make and they come in handy. Glad you enjoyed your trip and I hope the next time you go it will be the same
