Alaska has been a bucket list for both my husband and myself. As I said, photos just can’t justify the trip, it’s definitely something you need to see in person.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Wasn’t sure how embarkation was going to work since you have a time frame now but it went so easy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Main dining was great. We went to all 3 specialty restaurants and the food was very good. My husband thought the windjammer was even better on this cruise. We never went hungry that’s for sure.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We watched/listened all the dance lessons, the bands, bingo (first time we ever did bingo), watched karaoke, the shows at night. We enjoyed all the activities we wanted to see. We scheduled them in on our planner and would get reminded of the activity we wanted.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Have to give everyone a big thumbs up for the shows, musicians and the performers.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The service was wonderful like always. We never had an issue with anything. Helen was our room steward and she was excellent, loved seeing her in the morning and was always having a conversation with you. Some of the waiters we had were, Mark, Banajeck, Bernardo, Coco, Macy, Micki and Muriel. There were others but didn’t catch their names.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ship’s layout was easy. At least I thought so. There were workers cleaning all the time and not just the restrooms.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
For the Alaskan cruise you really want a balcony. This was the first time we had a balcony and loved going out to see the glaciers from it. Helen made sure our room was tidy every day. We didn’t have a problem with the size, I mean it’s not my bedroom size but we managed.
Ship tip
Be sure to have plenty money for tips. The staff work so hard and long to make sure you have a great time.
We actually were in Vancouver 2 days prior to sailing and you would have to be there longer to see everything to see there. We didn’t have any excursions.
Our excursion for Juneau was the float plane and the Taku Lodge. We didn’t get to explore the town due to raining. The excursion was fabulous. My husband got to be copilot when we came back from the lodge and he got some great pictures from that position. I would definitely recommend this excursion, it’s pricey but worth it. The food at the lodge was very good and tasty. We had fresh grilled salmon, homemade bread, baked beans, apples with cranberries, coleslaw and my husband’s favorite cookies for dessert.
We were supposed to had the hovercraft for the excursion in Ketchikan but it was canceled cause of weather. We were looking forward to this but we went site seeing instead since it was canceled. So much to see but made it to Creek Street.
You were on my sailing, the weather sucked. I still don’t feel like I saw Alaska, just fog, overcast weather, and the rain in Ketchikan was horrible. Even with superior rain gear, the driving rain soaked our legs
