Review summary

It was our 4th cruise to Alaska and one of our nicest. Ship is great, the weather turned out great as it was supposed to rain the whole time but only rained for an hr in Juneau heading back to the ship. Fabulous service. Food was great. Crew was always wanting to please us.

Terrible at the terminal in Vancouver….worst experience I have ever had getting on a ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining room was fabulous, food was great and service by Gusti and Dewar was fantastic. Chops grill filet mignonette was so tender, all you needed was a fork to cut it…delicious

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
MDR waiters Gusti and Dewa were fantastic and made sure we had everything we wanted, food was hot and enjoyable. Dorothy our cabin steward was wonderful and kept our cabin spotless… Norma our concierge looked after any requests we had and made sure everything was perfect for us.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was clean and although an older ship, she looked to be in good shape. Lots of personnel cleaning every day….

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin is comfortable and we used the balcony a lot. Room to be comfortable in the cabin as long as you are neat. It was nice to have a curtain that divides the sleeping are and the sitting area.

Ship tip

Travel light, don’t over pack. Magnetic hooks and clips for paper and wet clothes to dry.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

This is a fantastic port to see how the natives have created historical setting etc. zip line was fun to watch. Take the transporter to the other side of the area and check out all of the stores, restaurant and watch to see the whales.

Juneau, Alaska

Went to the Gold Panning and Salmon bake. It was great fun and learned a lot of history. Came home with some gold….stores are fantastic in town especially the T-shirt factory. Great sales.

Haines, Alaska

4 out of 5
Not much to see although you could walk to the old Fort but not many buildings open. The Bald Eagle Sanctuary was very good and very nice in there.

Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska

4 out of 5
Lots to see except was disappointed with not getting close to the glacier…could hardly see it. Some nice out cropping sand waterfalls.

Disembarkation

We were off the ship and in a taxi within 10 minutes and headed to the airport.
