Embarkation was very chaotic and no real direction. Worst one out of 8 prior. Cruise itself was fine. I was going in with low expectations because I like the Caribbean cruises and Alaska was beautiful but not my kind of cruise. I had to pack way too much, layers, sweatshirt, hats, gloves. Many people this is their bucket list and you should see the beautiful mountains of Alaska.
For us RC just dropped the ball when my husband tested positive.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
We went to the MDR twice, once for dinner and once for lunch and service was quick and food was delicious. We went to Izumi for dinner and as always service and good was excellent. We decided to more buffet options this time to be faster and have more choices since some nights the MDR menu didn't appeal to us. The one thing that stuck out was it was Mexican night and I got tacos and there was no sour cream and so I asked and they must not have understood English because they didn't know what I was asking for. The lady behind me said"who can have tacos without sour cream" we both laughed.
The buffet was nothing special but we found enough food.

Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room steward Kenneth was probably the best one we ever had.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
We didn't care for where coffee shop is placed. Very much in the way. Also when they are taking portraits they block the way so you are constantly trying to say "sorry" as your moving about the ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Older ship so it was just wear and tear. Chipped paint in bathroom, small stain on couch. Cabin walls are very thin. My neighbors never turned their tv off at night. I could turn my tv down and listen to what they were watching and not know that it wasn't my tv right next to me.
Ship tip
If you want a quiet outside space just go to deck 5
Took an excursion, we saw one whale, spent too much time looking for whales that it made us have less time going to Mendenhall glacier which is what I was looking forward too. So things didn't go as planned. Tour co employees were very nice and friendly
If you can just walk into town do it and not wait for the bus. Also if you have a mobility scooter don't even try and take the bus that was a nightmare.
My husband tested positive the day prior. We were told to book our own hotel, brought to a holding room day of at 10am, boarded a bus at 11am, had to drop everyone off at hotels, we got to our hotel at 1:15pm couldn't check in til 4pm but finally at 3:15pm they let us get our room. All the time my husband was very I'll. Very poor communication from RC
