Review summary

Great repositioning cruise. It had a total of five sea days, two in the beginning, two at the end and one inbetween. Five islands visited, so you could be as busy or laid back as you wanted. Love repositions cruises for the relaxation. Would do this cruise again in a heartbeat.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Never experienced embarkation in Boston before. It was total chaos. Arrived at port around 10:30, traffic was horrible. Three ships in port not enough port authority. Took us almost another hour from Summer Street to reach the ship. A long line snaked around the terminal. No porters for luggage. Hopefully this was an exception.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Ate at almost every venue. Breakfast at MDR and Windjammer. Lunch at MDR, Windjammer and Park Cafe. Dinner at MDR, Windjammer, Chops and Giovanni's. Never had a bad meal.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Enough onboard activities so you never got bored. Love the Solarium with the Park Cafe. We were invited to a backstage tour of the theater. Wow! Tight quarters for changing costumes. What these amazing singers and dancers go through to give us a great performance.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Toronto group, Rookie, were amazing. Danny Lucas ( I think that was his name) was hilarious. The musicians were first rate. Singers and dancers all had great performances.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service and staff on this ship are all first class. Always smiling, a good morning, afternoon or night from everyone. Never had a problem. Love all of Royal's staff but this ship was above all.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
For an older ship that was going into dry dock the day we disembarked, it was pleasantly clean and didn't show too much wear and tear. This is in part to the amazing crew!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Love my balcony cabin. We never leave stuff all over the place so our attendant doesn't have to step over stuff to clean. Always came back to a nice clean cabin. In order to get more room we would have to upgrade to a suite which means more money and less cruising so we make do.

Ship tip

Smaller ships might not have all the bells and whistles but they have better, more caring staff and crew. You meet so many more people on smaller ships. Try Serenade, you will not be disappointed!

Curaçao highlights tour. Always got for at this port and walked to town, this time we decided to actually tour the island. Nice air conditioned bus, comfortable. Toured the Blue Curaçao factory, wished we had more time there.

Easy. We had a transfer to Miami booked. Walked off with our luggage at 7:50, breezed thru customs and was at the Miami airport by 9:30. (We disembarked at Ft Lauderdale).
