Review summary

We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise from start to finish.  We disembarked quite relaxed and content.

The staff made it for us.  Our steward was amusing and on the ball and very attentive.  The critters he made were adorable.

The wait staff did a great job considering their immense undertaking of feeding so many people at one time. They were always pleasant and attentive.  Our head waiter remembered our names and likes after one meal.  That was most impressive.

The event and shopping staff far exceeded my expectations in their implementation of their jobs.  They went over and above.  Craig, the shopping guide took a personal interest in my concerns and was extremely helpful with an in port purchase.

Carly B., the event planner, out did herself with her additions to each of the shows.  She was funny and enthusiastic and obviously loved what she did.  She was fabulous.

Though the food was somewhat disappointing, it was good.  The specialty restaurants were better. It didn't seem fair that we had to pay extra for a really good meal, but it was worth it. We were however, very disappointed that there was no food available for late night cravings like we had found on other ships.

Overall, the cruise was wonderfully relaxing and fun.  The entertainment was superior and the activities plentiful.  If one is bored on a Royal Caribbean cruise it is there own fault!  We look forward to cruising again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

As mentioned in my comments, we were disappointed in the quality of the food, except in the extra cost speciality restaurants. The food in general had an institutional taste.

Children's Programs

Though we did not have kids with us, we sat at the table with four of them and they raved about the kids programs.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

The ship was well designed and easy to navigate. Everything was immaculate.

Cabin / Stateroom

Happy was our steward. He was properly named. He was always smiling and willing to help. He kept our room immaculate and made adorable critters out of towels. Except for the space-tube-like shower, we were very comfortable in the well designed, yet very small/cozy room. There was ample storage and the bed was quite comfy.

Ship tip

Don't bother getting the drink packages. They are expensive as a whole. Individual drinks do not cost that much. If you are a coffee drinker there is a coffee bar on ship like Starbucks. Buy a bottle of wine your first night and it will follow you the rest of the trip! Drink and enjoy!

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

WE love NOLA!

Key West, Florida

3 out of 5
We did not have enough time to really get a feel for the area. Too many people and too much hustle and bustle!

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Unless you snorkle or want beach time there is nothing to do but shop. There are excursions which we will do next time.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

3 out of 5
No point in getting off the ship unless you want to sunbathe or swim. We don't do either. Those who did complained about the crowds of people who were either rude or drunk!

Traveler Photos

Happy's doggie The space capsule shower and teeny bathroom. Comfy king size bed. Room has plenty of storage. Our favorite critter!

Nice review, thanks for sharing!  Honestly, we prefer the “shower tube” to a shower curtain that always seems like it wants to stick to you!  (Of course an actual shower stall is better.)
What are you planning for your next cruise?
