Review summary

This was our first Seabourn cruise and we have scheduled another to Iceland later this year. We have been on more than 30 cruises and this was the best so far. Food, service and accommodations were a cut above. All this comes at a cost, but well worth it.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Easy due to small number of passengers

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Excellent in all venues especially the Sushi restaurant. The only exception was the Thomas Keller Grill…..average at best. Service was good, but the steak although well flavored was tough. Perhaps that is why Seabourn is replacing the Grill.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
No pressure to sell anything. Very relaxing atmosphere. Drinks were all available without having to sign a receipt.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Simply outstanding!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It’s a small ship thus quite easy to learn where everything is located. Extremely clean ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Penthouse suite with plenty of space inside and the balcony had room for 4 chairs and a nice size table. The cabin was spotless with twice daily service.

Ship tip

It’s a little pricey but well worth the expense. Due to the size of the ship the ports of call were mostly smaller and less commercially intense islands. We consider that a big advantage. Since Barbados was the departure and return port there are significant challenges to getting there and returning home. This was a significant hassle and expense that cannot be avoided and is partially due to airline connections.

Ports of call

Bridgetown, Barbados

4 out of 5
Expensive hotels and ground transportation.

Port Elizabeth, Bequia, Grenadines

Great exposure to indigenous culture on the excursion.

Fort-De-France, Martinique

Got out of town. Visited Clement rum distillery and enjoyed a meal prepared by a local chef in Trois-Îlets. Wonderful experience!

Pointe-A-Pitre, Guadeloupe

5 out of 5
Another great experience of local culture.

St. John's, Antigua

Just okay. Got out of town but schedule too hurried.

SOUTH FRIARS BAY, ST. KITTS

4 out of 5
Very nice tour and was informative about the history of the island. Carambola is a large secluded beach on St Kitts. We visited this twice. Both calls were tendered and Seabourn hosted a wonderful BBQ meal that included lobster, ribs, etc. This stop is about a 15 minute drive to Basseterre by taxi.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

No excursion. Most everything closed on Sunday. Enjoyed cold beer and a meal.

Disembarkation

Getting off the ship and to the airport was flawless. However, the lines at the airport were an hour and a half long if you didn’t have priority.
