From start to finish the three children had a fantastic time, Kids club staff, waiters etc, fussed over them and made their cruise perfect, which was the aim. Adults enjoyed the entertainment etc. The Sapphire is a nice ship but in some places ready for a facelift. The sail through the Bay of Biscay was the worst ever but the return As flat calm. Ports of call which we anted to see were great with the exception of Genoa, Princess would be wise to stop calling there as no one had a good word to say about the place.
Embarkation
5 out of 5

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food in all dining area was excellent. The variety as to please all tastes. The Vivaldi dining had Excellent waiting staff and Headwaiters, they assisted the great grandchildren with menu's. Horizon court staff were always on hand to assist with the children, especially for seating, (high chairs)
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Activities were very good and the cruise director staff worked hard to entertain mainly elderly passengers. In all areas except the Gibralter sail away the noise was far to loud.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The shows with the singers and dancers were all of the highest Imhave seen in 27 years of cruising. The ships orchestra were also of the highest standard..
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
The kids club staff were magnificent, there were time when the boys prefers to be In the club in the evening than with us, pyjama party, kids films, pizza party etc.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Waiting staff at all levels and areas were fantastic, always ready to please and assist with the children, front desk and shorex staff were outstanding, alas though the room steward as a bit lazy and I Had to constantly as for things to b cleaned, the balcony rail and glass as not cleaned the whole cruise. Apart from that the ships staff were excellent.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship is different from others of the same class with more nooks and cranny making it easier to find somewhere quiet if need be. Public areas were clean and generally well maintained, the usual wear and tear could be seen but that is expected.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabin was good but shabby, we had to request the bathroom be cleaned on day one of the cruise, drawers were dusty and had waste paper in them, balcony was very dirty and the balcony windows were not clean. This was the standard throughout the cruise.
Ship tip
The Sapphire is a lovely ship but be aware that there are no tables for two in the International Restaurant. The ships was full yet there was always room in the main dining areas and on the decks with loungers. One of the swimming pools is covered as though in a conservatory, a real asset on hot or rainy days.
Always a pleasure to visit Gibralter, nice town centre, plenty of eating and refreshment places all display prices and the prices are very reasonable. For the British passengers there is a Morrisons within 15 minutes of the ship and all, items are cheaper than UK as there is no VAT.
