Review summary

overall the cruize was excellent, the excursions were awesome and even though we booked the excursions through the ship and thought they may have been expensive we found out they not and well worth it. would do it all again. we have booked another cruise for the end of the year. Next time will try and rest up a bit more as I was always on the go and was so tired when I got back.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
the food was tasty and plenty-full. We particularly liked the buffet lounge as it was always quick easy and lots to choose from. We also tried the restaurants where food was delicious service was excellent, but we preferred not to dress up so only tried each restaurant once but Vivaldi Dining room we went at least 4/5 times as we loved it so much and we could get away with dressing semi casual. The Piazza and Alfredo's Pizzeria restaurant service was also popular.

Service and Staff

Any staff members we came in contact with were always friendly, helpfull as with the stewards they went out of their way to ensure you had everything and were happy.

Ship Quality

This was my first cruise and I was very impressed with the layout and design, Princesss Saphire is a very clean spacious ship and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

the room was comfy we had two single beds, the beds were very comfy the pillows too, clean linen every day...our cabin was serviced daily and I was very impressed. the bathroom was small compact and easy to use. shampoo, soap, towels etc were supplied fresh on a daily basis. It was quiet and we never heard any noise outside from other passengers.

Ship tip

Bring some extra USB converters...I had a two USB plug but wasn't enough for both of us. we used the TV usb and also purchased a converter from the ship store which cost $40 usa. The conversion rate when spending/withdrawing money from my travel card I paid high fees. Make sure you bring x amount of cash in denominations you need..i.e.USA$ (they are pretty much accepted anywhere) vietnam dong...thailand..cambodia.. etc.. will save you trying to exchange on the ship which was well below the current day rate. Carry cash in usa$ but make sure when on the ship use the safe provided. Bring your phone and turn off the data, download the princess@sea app and you can communicate with your partner and or kids at no cost what so ever providing you have your phone data and flight mode off..we used this app everyday whilst on ship. laundry service we used and found its not so expensive as everyone makes out unless you want it same day then its costly. Check your room account each night by printing a statement yourself there are two machines located near receiption You don't have to pay gratuity on services if you ask reception to remove it your given a form to sign saying you prefer not to pay it will then not be charged automatically on your account. All the ossi passengers refused to pay this and it was no big deal..we did leave some money in an envelope for our steward at the end of our cruise.
