Plenty to do and experience while enjoying the main attraction of the Panama Canal. Would sail this ship and line again, would even try and look for Cruise Director Cole and Angie while other staff would be loved. Looking to do the Historic Locks on a future cruise.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Waited before entering building, quickly through security, then had to wait again before boarding ship.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Service wonderful and Ben and Lenon went above and beyond for experience, but many nights there wasn’t much on the menu or food was unexciting and not up to previous standards.
Botticelli Dining Room
4 out of 5
Only used this Dining Room for dinner and almost all nights were Ben and Lenon. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything desired but navy nights food offered just wasn’t of interest.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Tried hand at Ring Toss, 70 Music Trivia and a few other activities but missed others like Egg Drop and Paper Airplane.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Went to Princess Theater most nights. Some nights packed and could not get in even with lowered ship capacity. Other nights were wonderful and yet a few nights the6 had the wrong entertainment scheduled in the main theater while a secondary entertainer was performing. Had repeat performers at least two if not three nights.
Explorer's Lounge
3 out of 5
Nice layout but hardly big enough when everyone on board wants to see the entertainer and even the overflow areas are more than full.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All crew, especial Cabin Stewards and Dining went above and beyond for experience. Conversely, Barstaff seemed to be just going through the motions.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ship was constantly being cleaned and maintained. Monte Cello Dining seemed to make for some difficulties getting around the ship at times.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Cabin itself and Cabin Steward were wonderful but perhaps a little forward for most activities. Many times did not like the open balcony as sunny and always visible to any other traveler.
Ship tip
Ship has plenty of activities and mostly easy to get around.
Hard to complain about it, but took forever to get off the ship because the line had to be stopped on numerous occasions. Was told by port staff that are was not necessarily the safest while managing luggage and was unable to find luggage storage. However we were able to maneuver the short distance to Pier 39 and enjoy a wonderful , local lunch before heading to the airport.
Sail and Snorkel was a motor, as there was no sail, and went with the masses. While we were able to de everything promised there was also motor issues and because all groups do activities in same order there was quite the crowd at Arch and snorkel sight where if we had done it backwards would have avoided much of the crowds. Shopping afterwards was nice.
