Review summary

Met a lot of people and they were mostly our age (45-75). Many had cruised many time and we got a lot of information about other cruises and cruise lines. All recommended Princess as the best. They provide the most and best service and food.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Went very quickly and without a hitch. There were many staff to direct and help us know what to do. The Medallion worked great.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Buffet was great as were the dining rooms for dinner. Meal portions at the dining rooms were perfect.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Liked the movies by the pool and having ice cream nearby and pizza. The fitness center was great and we loved the pickleball court and track to walk. Golf needs to be a bit flatter around the holes. They seemed to be on hills.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Loved Pianist Lucian Stana. We went to as many of his concerts as I could. He was friendly and responsive to the audience. On stage shows were ok. Liked the ones that sang more well known songs from the 60s and 70s that appealed to the majority of the 50-75 year old crowd. Would have been better if more songs were well known.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Seward was great, friendly, helpful and pleasant. Naisy.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Good ship layout and I loved climbing the stairs for exercise.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin C321. Great room and perfect size. Very clean.

Ship tip

Print a ship map of decks 6-17 so can find way around on day one. A bit confusing trying to get where you want to be. The electronic maps on each floor are good too.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

Just boarded here and a good experience.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

When we booked our excursions, Princess didn't have any up yet so we booked with Marriott Bonvoy to get what we wanted and assure they wouldn't be sold out. Our excursions were the same but with extras like meals and the cost was less than Princess. It was nerve racking that we had to walk a half mile or so to find the excursion hosts. But we succeeded. Princess doesn't let them in the port or help giving directions. We got back in plenty of time before the boat left. We visited Chacchoben ruins (not big but guide was very helpful) and had a homemade authentic Mexican meal in a home where the host taught us to make a Mexican tortilla.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Went to the Zuperman Zip line and didn't do the Zuperman, where you go on your stomach, for 2 zips but went on the normal Zip with 11 segments or zips (the longest1100 feet). Staff was fun and safety oriented. My wife is terrified of heights and because there are cement steps and great launch platforms she never feared anything. Had a great experience and she can't wait to go again!!!!

Cozumel, Mexico

Went to Playa Uvas resort. They paid the $12 taxi fare each way. I went out alone with a guide (Roberto) because there were no other people at that time. He showed me corral and we even saw Nemo. George fed the fish around me and I got pictures with little fish all over (the pictures cost $40 to buy). As soon as I got out it started to rain and so we went back to the ship. Great experience!!!!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy to disembark. You set your time and method of disembarking. Wait for the call and leave. No passports just used the Medallion. The biggest problem was we had to wait almost 3 hours for our shuttle to the airport. There was a crash on the freeway. Luckily we had a 5pm flight and had not problems but at least one lady missed her fight. Allow plenty of time the get to the airport just in case.

Thank you for your reviews. My son and I are going on the Ruby Princess next month. I've been on Carnival a few times and have really enjoyed it. I'm hoping Ruby is as good if not better since it's my son's first cruise. I've been raving about cruising and hoping he likes it as much so he can tell his brothers, and maybe they will want to do a family cruise 😊.
