First Princess cruise. First Suite. Won't be the last of either. Shame about the weather but we made the best of it. First two excursions were worthwhile. Third not so much.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Arrived early, no long lines, by the time we got to our floor it was open and we went straight into our suite.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We ate in the Club Class dining room except for breakfast in Sabatini's. Same menu but much better service. We had a free night in Sabatini's and it was excellent. Steak house booked up early so we learned a lesson there. First morning we tried the buffet for breakfast and it was a typical madhouse. The rough seas (for the Caribbean) caused some missed meals.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We walked the decks when it wasn't raining or too windy. We're 70+ and walking is about it.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We only saw one show "colors of the world" and it was a commercial for the ports Princess visits. The dancers were very good. Talent in the Plaza was always accomplished and enjoyable.
Children's Programs

Service and Staff

Everyone was eager to please. Helped us immensely being new to having a suite and it's perks. I'm waiting on the end cruise survey to give call outs to our helpers.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
We don't want to be under the Lido Pizza shop again but you learn. Never saw messy floors or tables.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
This was our stewards last cruise but you wouldn't have known it. Cleaning twice a day, Mini bar kept well. Always water and ice. He made the best towel animals.
Ship tip
We aren't lay by the pool folks so get the best stateroom you can. Since the weather was not great, reading in the room or the balcony (when dry) was comfortable. Room service was good. Captain has a very dry sense of humor.
We live 50 miles from Galveston and spend weekends there. We took an Uber to the ship this time. If you've never been then it's worth a day to look around.
We did the submarine excursion which was educational and enjoyable. This was second visit there and except for the Aztec dancers nothing much was changed.
We went to the Altun Ha Pyramids. Excellent guides on the bus and in the park. Because you arrive via tender the port is just the standard tourist malls and we didn't have time to browse.
We bought a day pass for the Chair lift to Mahogany Beach. We rode it three times. Beautiful views. Went to the Gumbalimba Park and it was just so so. Scarlet Macaws were gorgeous. Too much walking. Local Chocolate maker was the best of the tourist mall. Free samples.
Best ever! We had a good breakfast then went to our post and we were already allowed to go. Had to walk a ways to get to Uber pickup. Lyft has a monopoly it seems.
