Review summary

Would have been better if we flew. Have been on much better ships. The Sky is our choice. The Ruby is an older ship. The outside showed signs of major rust which was ugly. Didn’t start painting til Honolulu. It was unsightly to look at in port and reflected the cruise line

Awful. Ship wanted everyone off and luggage was just coming off. Waited in dank dungy outdoors terminal for Over an hour for luggage. Terrible system

Cruising to Hawaii is for old people who want to escape reality in favour of sea days. The Ruby came out in approximately 2009, she’s older for sure, but the Sky is barely broken in….so not a fair comparison. During the pandemic shut down ships were maintained to keep their lifeblood flowing with a very minimal crew. Painting them wasn’t top priority. Right now every cruise line is struggling with costs, getting staff, supply chain issues., ever changing health standards. Airlines aren’t any better. Maybe do a road trip or staycation next time.

Thanks for the review. Cruising is no longer the same since Covid and probably never will be again. All of the cruise lines are struggling financially and cutting back on maintenance, service and staffing.
