Great family vacation, we had a group of 17 total and after trying for three years it was worth the wait.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Took twice as long as previous embarkations. Security was very slow as then the lanes were quite slow as well. Took over an hour to get onto the ship.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
I don’t care for the dine your way option. I prefer the early or late seating. Our party requested 6 pm dining and ended up getting 7 pm, which is really late for our group. Often we wouldn’t get out of the dining room until 9:30 pm and going to bed was difficult on a full stomach. Halfway through we asked to adjust our dining time and they said we could come around 5 or 5:30 pm. That worked out much better. Plus we were sat at the same table with the same staff. At the later time we were sat in random tables each night.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Pools were warmer than usual which was good since this cruise is cooler. I went to the gym once and it was good.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Watched the magician Vincent and he was fabulous.
Children's Programs
4 out of 5
My kids enjoyed kids club, they were in the lodge and spent as much time as they could while at sea. I wish there was more of an option during port days.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
They were great
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Ship was fine, it amazes me how quickly they were letting guests on the boat when guests were just leaving.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Cabin was clean, there were hairs left in our bathroom. Next time we will probably opt for a mini suite
Ship tip
Wear a mask religiously, and don’t dine with people you don’t know. I wore a mask the majority of the cruise and we ended up eating breakfast with two other couples on 8/7 and the first full day off the ship I got a notice that I was in close proximity to someone who tested positive. Two days later I had a positive test.
Quicker than expected. We were one of the last groups to disembark and we were asked off the ship 45 minutes early, so we had to wait outside a lot longer for our ride.
