Embarkation

1 out of 5
We had been waiting more than 2.5 hrs line up for boarding. It was a windy day, all handicapped / elderly were no special service has been provide. It's really not organize by Cruise company at all.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
No food available at 11pm on the first day on Cruise. All best restaurant have to book before you on board. If you a first time on ship, no experienced to reserve table upfront on Cruise, you must got trapped, like me.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Pool is not open, too windy, I don't even know they have climbing walls.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Performers is good , but the options on Beverage / Whisky not too much options even we willing to pay for it.

Children's Programs

No children come with me this time

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
My room cleaner promise to provide me the luggage sticker on the first day when we met at the room, but never did it. He was disappeared on the last 2 days.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
common area too tight, its not well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
room size is okay. Shower area too small. the cloths is not clean and the carpet is dirty.

Ship tip

book the restaurant before you onboard, read carefully what facilities they have, no flyers will give you head up, you have to do you own study before you onboard

Ports of call

San Francisco, California

2 out of 5
Pier 35 is horrible. Please respect elderly and handicapped people. Please don't let elderly waiting online for more than 1 hour. ( We were waiting over 2.5 hrs) under windy and raining day.

San Diego, California

3 out of 5
clean, easy access, but no shops around.

Ensenada, Mexico

2 out of 5
easy access the port, No. due to Omicron, prefer stay away the local food store

Disembarkation

3 out of 5

Not sure that it is the cruise lines fault… 2.5hrs for embarkation would be pretty speedy given the experience we have had this last 12 months (on more than 20 cruises)… Once we probably managed to board within 1hr, usually it’s been 3 or 4 hours… Not sure how they can filter the “elderly” as that would be about 90% of the guests on most cruises… Because we cruise so frequently we get priority boarding on most cruise lines but that has still taken about 3hrs for most trips with the requirements for testing, document checks, etc…

Talking to engineering staff…the #1 reason for toilet blockages is due to people who insist on flushing things that should not be flushed …i spite of signs and pictures saying what should not go through the vacuum system there are blockages that can take out multiple cabins …🤔…the lady said that she could not find food at 11PM…🤔…

I thought the preliminary check in was done by the port, not the ship. But the ship takes the blame.

Yes…there are assigned times that are now enforced…unlike the old days where times were suggested but first come first served were the rules …those days are past……and if you pre registered then you would have all your documents and the time to come in…if folks in your party do not have proof of vaccination and recent test then there is a wait period waiting for shoreside results…@ 11PM the only dining experiences available on the Ruby would be room service and the International Cafe…if you or members in your party have mobility issues then inform your TA…for other cruisers if you choose to gamble coming in ahead of your set time be prepared to wait if they are sticking to the planned time…talk to those who have been on your ship before to answer some of the dining options…and also if your TA is only interested in cashing your check and ignoring your questions…then reach out to fellow shipmates to find a feast TA…

Sorry you had issues. Cruising now is not the same as pre-Covid and may never be the same again.
