Review summary

We relaxed, ate, and drank! Our room was great for an interior. The steward too great care of the room for us. The ship is beautiful! I was not impressed with the buffet. There was lots of choices. But it was like eating at the Country Buffet. Breakfast at the buffet was the same foods everyday. Don’t waste your time paying for the fining. The food in the dining room was amazing and you didn’t have to pay for it. International cafe food was really good. I preferred it for breakfast and lunch. Vines wine bar was the best bar by far. All the bartenders at the other bars were not very friendly, they didn’t greet you, and were very slow serving. Movies under the stars was great. They were doing some work on the ship of painting and varnishing. The smell from the varnish was very very strong. That seems like something that should be done when passengers are not on board.

International Café

The coffee wasn’t very good. It tasted pretty watered down. But the pastries and sandwiches and salads that they had were very very good. And the service was great.

Vines Wine Bar

5 out of 5

Best part of the cruise was the bar vines. After being in there the first night the bartender remembered our names every single time and already knew which room we were in. He had great suggestions for wines. He was extremely friendly, greeted us every time we walked in, and gave exceptional service. The sushi was also very good. Gideon was the best!

Ship tip

Eat the majority of your meals in the dining rooms. The buffets aren’t that good. Skip paying extra for the fine dining. Our meal there was incorrect and the service was below par. Don’t waste the money.

I agree about the varnish. We found it very unpleasant.

Mostly agree about the buffet, although I have made some great lunch salads there. Our first time on the Ruby we also used the International for most lunches, but on that trip we also had John who was an excellent multitalented musician, played one mean saxophone, a great lunch routine for a 15 day cruise !!! Glad you enjoyed (except for the varnish) cruise.
