Review summary

Overall, this is always one of our best cruises, especially when it's cold in California!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
In-Transit passenger. We disembarked before the crowd and walked along the waterfront to the San Pedro Fish Market. Nice, scenic walk!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We especially liked SHARE by Curtis Stone. On the Ruby Princess, the restaurant used to be Sabatini's although quite different now.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We went to the fitness center on Sea Days. Equipment was in top condition and always available.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Very nice shows, especially "Magic to Do". We loved the production shows and the headliner singers in the lounges.

Children's Programs

no kids

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Sometimes staff answered our questions, sometimes not. I think they didn't understand English at times.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
carpet on stairs and elevator areas need updating

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
always clean and clean-smelling (very important to us).

Ship tip

Check the safe to make sure it works properly. We've found the batteries are not checked and they can go. bad on you, just when you need to grab your excursion tickets or something!

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

5 out of 5
Puerto and Mazatlan were the best stops. The Cabo tendering process was time-consuming. You need to go ashore at the right time...... Tenders for excursions take priority so make sure you sign up for an excursion in Cabo!

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
Nice port with lots to do

Mazatlan, Mexico

5 out of 5
We went on our own excursions here: took the water taxi to Stone Island and hiked to the lighthouse!

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

4 out of 5
Walking the beach was the best. Walking around town was OK if you were looking to buy something. We found the best prices at the cruise port!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Again, we were in transit to our 3rd cruise. We took a nice walk downtown.
