Review summary

The last night onboard experienced rough seas and the crew advised us this is very typical of the last night on this route. More than half the ship's patrons remained in their rooms.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
We had a suite but the employee forgot to give us our Elite pass, causing us to wait to get onboard.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The DaVinci dining room was split with 2/3 for others and 1/3 for suites. This caused it to be too noisy and not as intimate as other ships. Food from room service was not very high quality and we were put on hold for over ten minutes each time in order to place an order. We also had to call in order to get our mini bar set up and they never did deliver the two wine splits that were supposed to be there on our arrival.

Crown Grill

4 out of 5

Nice for suite breakfast. The rib eye at supper was a disappointing less than 1/2" thick steak and a little more tough than I expected.

Skywalkers Nightclub

2 out of 5

This is supposed to be a "suite lounge" during certain hours with hors d'oeuvres. Disappointed in the limited hours and the quality of appetizers (mainly crackers and cheese and chips and guacamole).

Wheelhouse Bar

3 out of 5

Very crowded during Happy Hour. Difficult to understand foreign speaking bartenders.

Horizon Court

2 out of 5

Food in the Horizon Court was not very high quality. Trying to find seating was very difficult.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Hardly any true entertainment in the theater. At least on one night all that was done was to show a movie that was also on TVs aboard the ship.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our steward, Rodrigo and our dinner server, Catalina, were both very good and friendly. One waiter in the Crab Shack was surly and recommended that we go to Horizon Court for dessert. Not what I would expect when we paid extra for this meal.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was clean, but needed maintenance. Many lights were out in dining room ceilings and ceilings, bar and dance floor at Skywalker Lounge.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very nice suite and large balcony with a jetted tub, separate shower, large closet and pretty comfortable bed.

Ship tip

Don't get an interior room!!

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
We were scheduled to be at the Fusion Lounge with other Elite class patrons at 9:50 am for a 10:00 am departure. A continental breakfast would be served. Fortunately, we arrived at 8:30 to be with our friends who were scheduled to leave at 9:00 am. The food and coffee was removed at 9:15 and all four of us were told to queue up at 9:30 along with many others throughout the ship. This caused a very long line and unnecessary delay in disembarking for everyone.
