Ruby Princess cruise to Vancouver

Sail Date: May 03, 2016

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

Average cruise ship with average balcony staterooms.  We are cruising about once a year and this is our 3rd cruise in 3 years.  Food was below average compared to Norwegian and about the same as Carnival.  Upscale steakhouse served a filet mignon that had the texture and flavor of an Applebee's sirloin. Definitely not the quality one would expect.  Ship tended to be crowded especially the buffet dining room where sections would be closed off and no tables available in the open areas.  We likely will not sail on Princess cruise lines again.

Cabin / Stateroom
Average compared to other cruise ship balcony rooms.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Long lines both ways even though we paid for express service.
Ship Quality
Beautiful common area decor.
Destinations and Excursions
Paid for a hotel shuttle and hop on - hop off bus tour. Vendor did not provide any shuttle service and it took a full day for our luggage to be delivered to the hotel.
Onboard Activities
Short cruise. All they had was a comedian.
Service and Staff
Most of the staff worked hard and tried to provide prompt and friendly service. Service desk staff not very knowledgeable regarding excursions. Some do not speak English clearly.
Food and Dining
Edible but lower quality.
