Review summary

It has been our impression that the average passenger on this cruise did not dress up for formal nights, most did anytime dining and since the cruise was "sold out" entertainment venues were packed and often theater seats were not available for passengers who did traditional dining.

On formal nights the wait staff dressed better than many of the diners.   It was our observation that this particular cruise was taken by many people who just wanted a convenient winter escape, they came to eat a lot and dress not particularly well.

My husband has a beautiful black suit that he wears for cruises, funerals and weddings. He looks quite dashing and I wear a little bling and usually slim velvet pants with sparkly top and/or jacket. We love dressing up since it's only a few nights and that makes it special...breaks up the monotony. Other nights, we dress a little nicer then during the day...dressy casual.

it depends, some couples like to really dress up and they would be wearing a tux and formal gown or dark color suits with a tie. If a suit or tux is not your style a nice pair of dress pants with a nice shirt would be acceptable to. Just have fun, it's your cruise. I chose to wear a medium grey suit with a different shirt and tie for each night. We had 3 formal nights you will probably have 2 for the 7 day.

I want to clarify I am not agreeing with the original poster. I was agreeing with wcastillo, plus mostly everybody we saw was dressed up and if they weren't they were atleast having fun.

We dressed up on formal nights and did not care who didn't. In fact we dined late so many of the passengers who dined very early changed out formal attire to be comfortable when attending the many activities and shows going on throughout the night. That, in itself, gives the impression that many passengers were not in formal attire. Besides, we were there to have fun, which we did.

I agree, we dressed up all of the formal nights to and so did my entire table of 8. Actually everybody on our side of the dining room looked great. We also enjoy sitting in the front row of the theater and every evening at the 10 or 11 o clock show seats were available. Was a great cruise.

We dressed up for all Formal Nights. I didn't really focus or care if anyone else did. It's their money and entirely up to them. I was there to have fun. Not to judge anyone.

Princess Theaters are all too small, on every ship. Formal nights are becoming less formal as people become reluctant to pack suits
