A: I’ve been up there 3 times & in Glacier Bay, we’ve seen sea lions, sea otters and this last trip in September, saw 2 black bears walking the shoreline. Definitely take binoculars with you!

A: Generally, formal nights are on sea days but never the day you sail or the day before disembarking. Last year our Alaska run aboard the Ruby had a formal night the first full day at sea, a "dress to impress" smart casual night the day we sailed int... o Glacier Bay (everyone was encouraged to wear white & gold), and a formal night the first sea day after Prince Rupert. The "Itinerary Highlights" section of the embarkation day Princess Patter will be your definitive guide.See More

A: Tap the “Journey” button at the bottom of your Medallion app screen to get “Explore the Ship” maps of all publicly accessible decks by both number and name.

A: by the time you factor in gratuities, a latte, a couple of afternoon cocktails, a glass of wine with dinner and maybe a couple of drinks in the evening, it's well worth the money. we love it because we don't have to wonder what our bill will be at th... e end. everything is including except spending money in port, specialty dining, and extras on the ship like shopping and gambling. Plus is great, Premier includes the digital photos.See More
Answered by BigDaddyDanger on August 20, 2024
A: It also includes your mandatory gratuities. It is well worth the price for us and we include it without question. My understanding is that you are allowed to 15 drinks a day which is certainly a lot. There is also a per drink cost cap, I think it is... $16. We’ve never had an issue with that. I don’t think photos are included in Plus though. But your loyalty level can save you some money on photos.See More

A: the Plus package is 15 drinks up to $15. Pictures are not included in the Plus Package, just the Premier. With the updated Premier, drinks are unlimited up to $20 per drink.

A: You also get 2 complimentary dinners in either Planks, Steamers or the Gastro Pub. Food is excellent, we did Planks and Gastro. It’s worth it if you drink
Answered by deboftheseas on August 19, 2024
A: Not unlimited. 15 per day. No pictures. It is well worth every penny, we add it without question.
Answered by billcravey on September 13, 2024
A: If you're not an alcoholic drinker it's not worth it.

A: I’d expect it to be decked out by the time of your Dec. 10 Panama cruise. Our Panama sailing on the Island Princess a few years ago left on Dec. 5 and we counted at least a dozen Christmas trees on board.
Answered by RichB165 on December 3, 2023
A: Yes, it should be. They'll have a Christmas tree, at least.

A: I'm pretty sure the food for all three Main dining rooms (Michelangelo, Da Vinci & Botticelli) on the Crown Princess comes from the same galley, situated between Da Vinci & Botticelli on deck 6 (note the blank area on the deck plans), so the food is... the same in all three. We personally prefer Michelangelo or Da Vinci because access to Botticelli is rather awkward, requiring you to go aft on deck 7 then take stairs or elevator down into a small lobby outside the Botticelli dining room on deck 6. That lobby can get congested with people awaiting the first dinner seatings around 5:00 PM. On the other hand, Michelangelo and Da Vinci are just off the piazza area on decks 5 & 6 and any wait for them is less claustrophobic.See More

A: See my answer mentioning the Crown Princess, below. It is a sister to the Ruby Princess. The Grand Princes also has similarly configured main dining rooms.

A: We had the same time and same table every night in Skagway. Our wonderful waiters were Attila and Alexis.

A: Interesting that photos of accommodations on the Princess web site show head of bed under window in ocean view cabin, but diagram shows head of bed against a wall (as I think you desire) on the Ruby. Maybe someone at Princess can look up your specifi... c cabin and advise which configuration you have booked.See More
Answered by RichB165 on July 22, 2023
A: My guess would be no. The electrical connections for the table lamps and possibly the triggered night lights (an invasive nighttime ‘safety’ feature Princess is installing) underneath the bed tables have to be on that wall. Plus (as I recall) the sw... itches for the other lights are there too.See More

A: To my knowledge all Princess ships have a laundromat on each deck with cabins.Use your medallion to buy tokens. They have detergent, but I pack my pods and bounce. Two washers and two dryers, first come, first serve. Open 8 to 8, I think.

A: On the Medallion app, go to personal information and documents. scroll down to Arrivals.Click on your upcoming cruiseship. choose your arrival time.
Answered by sunseekermama on February 7, 2023
A: It’s on the Princess Medallion app. If your app won’t load the option try deleting it and reinstalling.
Answered by LaRaeB on February 7, 2023
A: It is better if you use the app to request the meal…if you are not comfortable using the app…meet with the head waiter and let them know your preferences…but still better to let them know in advance…or your options will be very limited
Answered by romantikcruiser on January 15, 2023
A: If you are on a Princess excursion they will wait for you…or in extreme cases Princess will move you to the next port taking care of food and hotel……if you are on a non-Princess excursion…security will enter your cabin to collect documents you need t... o travel and give it to the Princess shore agent and it will be up to you to get to the next portSee More

A: it's pretty fidgety, try not to use on Saturdays. call Princess if you get stuck, they can either fix it for you,or tell you how to fix.
Answered by sunseekermama on November 6, 2022
A: You are not alone. I've struggled with the iPhone version while my sister in law has fought with the Android version. Sister in law never did get the image of her passport saved into the app but powers that be seemed OK with just the passport number.... In any event, you'll need to show the actual paper document before sailing. Getting assigned a debarkation time has been impossible for two cruises now. Fill out the form they leave in your room a couple days before the end of the cruise & see the service desk if your assignment differs from what you need. The Activities Timeline won't be fully “populated” with events until shortly before sailing. There's a Medallion Help desk (on the Ruby it's deck 7 between the Photo Gallery and Club Fusion) the people there are pretty good at mitigating some but not all of the aggravation once you're aboard.See More

A: No, on Princess you don’t book shows, but here’s a heads up….their theatres are too small. So…if you want to see a show at 8:30 pm let’s say, then get there before 8 pm. Everybody saves seats. People with scooters try to run over people, it’s like Se... nior Bumper Cars. It’s the one thing I hate about Princess….The Princess TheaterSee More

A: Shows in the Princess Theatre are first come first served. No booking required.

Q: Does Princess still offer robes for use in staterooms? There used to be a box to check in the on-line personalizer to request them but that seems to have disappeared recently.

A: Two chairs might be a little tight in most cabins …might have to pull the little table
Answered by romantikcruiser on September 25, 2022
A: They do offer the robes…if you do not have one you can ask the cabin steward for them
Answered by romantikcruiser on September 21, 2022
A: Thanks, Romantik. I’ll ask our steward next week. . . Probably will have to request a second chair again, too. Two behinds but only one chair in the room doesn’t make sense to me but that’s the way it was last April. . . 😐
Answered by RichB165 on September 25, 2022
A: We’re back from our Oct. ‘22 California Coastal cruise & can report that our cabin steward provided robes without being asked. Our request for a second chair was fulfilled within minutes, as was our request that the little door in the balcony partiti... on be opened so family in adjoining cabins could mingle / migrate back & forth on the balcony.See More

Q: We just booked an unobstructed ocean view room on the ruby princess. Looking at picture of the room and description—states one desk chair…no other place to sit. Is that true? No love seat or other chairs? 10 days with one desk chair for 2 of us will get old

A: The cabins are about 160 sq-ft…not enough room for a second chair…if you book a mini suite or better you will have additional sitting space …if you book a balcony then there will be outside sitting space …we normally sit on the bed…if we are eating i... n the room then one sits at the vanity and the other sits on the bed and uses the small table … but we remain in our cabin to nap…otherwise we find many quiet places on the ship to sit in comfort to read…watch…and chatSee More

A: I ALWAYS check out my cabin on cruisedeckplans(dot)com where you can see diagrams, descriptions and usually pictures of your specific cabin number. Knowing what you’re getting in a cabin before you arrive is crucial to a happy cruise experience!

Q: We have been on many cruises before Covid and after many cancellations we finally get to go on another cruise in July. 💃🏼 We usually get the photo package for about $200 that includes all photos taken on the cruise. After looking at the photo options it seems that this is no longer available. Is this true for everyone or am I missing something? I don’t want to pick 5 or 10 favorite pictures. I want them all! 😁. Thank in advance for all info. Happy cruising!

A: Welcome back MV… yes…to encourage extra spending the cruise lines have done away with the all you can eat photo packages …this did not bother me…mrs-the-old-guy is now less insistent that we hit every station…I do miss the Shutterfly gifts … but tho... se went away years ago … for a deal the 10 pack does best the costs of individual photos …but what the heck …we’re still going cruisingSee More
