We went on an 8... by Scwhent

Sail date: /
Ship: Royal Princess

We went on an 8 day Southern Caribbean cruise on the Royal. It was a great time. I would break it down as follows: Embarkation: The baggage check and check in process was very quick and easy. After check in we did have to wait 45 minutes or so to board but the process was all pretty simple and we were able to get into our room immediately after boarding. Entertainment: The stage shows were all pretty good. The comedian was funny. They did have one guest singer that I would characterize as marginal. The entertainers on the pool deck and in the bars were all very good. The cruise director, Matt O, is a star and his staff are all very good. The trivia and game shows were all a blast. Dining: We had fixed dining and our servers were great. The food was always very good and served fresh and hot. Even the buffet and pool deck food was really good. If I had any complaint it would be a lack of bartenders. They were all friendly and were clearly working very hard but there simply were not enough creating some lengthy delays getting drinks. Cabin: The room was nice and our steward was excellent. We had a balcony cabin which was not huge but certainly met our needs. We did have to call a couple of times to get our TV working correctly but, other than that, it was all fine Excursions: We did excursions through Princess in Curaçao and Bonaire. The tour guides were good and we had a great time on both. Disembarkation: leaving the ship was very organized and easy. We located our luggage easily and made it back to the airport without any trouble at all This was our first trip on Princess after previously only having sailed with Disney. I don’t know if I can say they are quite at Disney level but certainly are a much better value. We have more cruises planned on Princess

Everyone was very helpful. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Hilo, my porter was EXCELLENT. Roxanne from Peru found me hard boiled eggs in mid afternoon, this made me very happy.

We had a great trip... by stacy1231

Sail date: /
Ship: Royal Princess

We had a great trip - the southern Caribbean was beautiful. The dates we went were unusually calm - very little wind. The boat was beautiful. The crew was very helpful. Our steward kept us informed about a terrible incident on board ( still not sure if it was a murder or not). The wait staff in the symphony dining room was extraordinaire - the other dining room was understaffed and unorganized. We have already planned to sail again with Princess!

Terrific Caribbean cruise by Tree1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Embarking was a breeze. Everything was great with one issue. We like to visit the casino and unbeknownst to us this voyage was a VIP players cruise which meant there were never any slots available to play. Had we known this when booking, we would have changed to another week. Other than that the weather was perfect, the seas smooth and food delicious. Lastly, disembarkation was also a breeze.

Terrific “Cool” Cruise by ToniKN

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: U.S. - Southeast

This was a great cruise and I enjoyed all the ports we visited. I was sad due to weather we were not able to visit 2 scheduled ports. On sea days I especially enjoyed Zumba classes and Line Dancing 💃💖

A lovely but chilly cruise by ChrisBeeh

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

I enjoyed the ports of call but it was cold! I would suggest going no later than 1st week in October. We did see beautiful foliage in Canada even 3rd week of October

Great cruise, HORRICBLE EXCURSIONS! by Bobkunders

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Saguenay excursion was a farce!!!! Took us to a "1990 movie prop" and then told us how these buildings were used by the natives! A princess employee would have been equally as embarrassed. HORRIBLE! Waste of time and MONEY!!

New England and Eastern Canada by taichiken

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

We went looking for beautiful fall colours but were a little early in the season. End of September and beginning of October. It was great visiting the east coast ports/cities we’ve not seen before. The weather wasn’t great for us but we made the best of it and had packed warm clothes and rain gear. The staff always make the cruise a success for us and this cruise was no different. Princess always spoils us we this was no exception. I would recommend a couple if days in New York and a couple in Quebec City if you’ve not been before. Well worth it. It was super easy flying into La Guardia and getting to the port. It was a short cab ride from our hotel to the port. Also easy from the port of Quebec to our Delta hotel. Great East Coast holiday.

Just returned from a 10... by karlgrgurich

Sail date: /
Ship: Royal Princess

Just returned from a 10 day cruise on the Royal Princess. Had a fabulous time, with so many great people...staff and guests. The cruise director MattO was absolutely hilarious.....would love to be on another cruise with him. MDR was fabulous, and the Horizon Court was great too. Loved all the ports too. Few little glitches along the way this time, but Princess corrected them beautifully and professionally. Can’t wait for our next cruise!

Beautiful Ship by CruzySuzy24

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

We had originally booked a mini suite, but were offered an upgrade to a full suite (for a few $) and we are so happy we took it. Lots of perks come with it. We were all the way forward, and had a huge window at the front of the ship as well as a large balcony. Our cabin steward was great, the food and drinks were wonderful and we enjoyed all the ports we visited. We had already been to some, so did not get off the ship at a few of them. Amazing trip and well worth the money.

We enjoyed our cruise. ... by 10xmama

Sail date: /
Ship: Royal Princess

We enjoyed our cruise. The ship was very nice, our steward was excellent, waiters and staff very professional and accommodating. The food was excellent. I’d say we were some of the younger people on the ship (early 40s). Most of the daily activities, dancing, and entertainment seemed geared to the older folks. We still had fun and enjoyed relaxing but it was a slower pace than if there were more younger people on board.

Could have been better by VuJaDae

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Transatlantic

This was a 60th wedding Anniversary for my parents. They 78 and 80. My sister and her husband, my husband and myself, and my parents, were on the cruise. We were very disappointed that we could not go to the original ports, but it could not be helped. However, things should have been put into place onto the ship to better accomadate the changes. Such as; the selling of cooler clothes since we were going to be going to warmer ports. These items were nowhere to be found until after we had gotten back from Portugal. Also, the air conditioning situation seemed to be all over the ship. That really needed to be fixed. We had issues, told our porter and told maintenance, and never heard back about it. A response would have been nice. We had an issue with a passenger. My sister told someone about it, and was promised that soemthing would be done about it. It never was. The guy almost choked my sister. We kept seeing him on the ship and he and his wife would stare at us. He tried to choke her, told us both to "go to hell", numerous times. (simply because he did not like me taking pictures on our canal cruise in Amsterdam) We have all cruised numerous times on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian, and this was the first time anything like this has ever happened. This was our first time on Princess, and it will be our last. Thank you, Mrs. A. Herman

Overall fantastic cruise with unexpected surprises by PNWMolly

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Transatlantic

Our cruise itinerary changed due to hurricane, and we missed 3 ports. Added two ports to the south, which were Vigo, Spain, and Ponta Delgada, Azores. The two new ports were excellent, especially the Azores. Azores were incredibly beautiful and we learned a lot about them on a tour that was arranged by Princess. Princess did compensate each guest on the cruise for missing the ports ($200 per person). A great cruise!

Driverted Transalantic Cruise by Babcockk1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Transatlantic

We missed Norway, Ireland, St Joh’s because of weather, but I really appreciate the way Princess treated us and looked out for our safety. Compensation speaks to integrity, and Princess has a loyal customer for now on. We stopped in Vigo and the Azores, two wonderful islands and smooth sailing all the way home.

A very fast paced cruise with loads to do but be aware that the first sea day is a long way off and pace yourself. Cruise Director Matt O was fantastic and really made things fun and entertaining. Shows were all top notch.
