Nice ship. Fun itinerary. Too much upselling. by klj115

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Lovely ship. Amazing itinerary. Plenty to do. Despite the size, shore excursions and meals were smooth and very seldom had to wait in line. Great fitness center.

They do oversell. Most sea day activities are based on selling something. The Spa was the worst. Based on my location, I had to walk past the Spa desk every time to get to the coffee bar or service desk. The Spa personnel were like vultures. I finally began getting off one deck higher and walking a different path. Even then they still lurked outside the elevator on other floors and would literally run up, grab you and pull you over to the sales desk. T

Normally the spa is one of the treats I look forward to, but the hard sell told me what I could expect if I actually did make an appointment. First cruise that I never stepped in the spa once. I get they want to make money, but this team was worse than the  street vendors.

Our transatlantic cruise by lyndacc3b8c

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

This was a trip we never thought we would be doing, and we are so glad we did.  Our cabin was our greatest disappointment.  We had just been on a cruise in the same category cabin with RC and it was wonderful.  This cabin was small.  Each time we wanted to go to the balcony we had to move the chair. The ship was a nice size to move around in, and being mid ship was great.  The service was outstanding.  Our favorite part was the entertainment provided.  Something to do any time you wanted to do it. The food was good. The staff was very efficient with all of our needs. Ports were difficult due to limited outings for people with limited mobility.

OUR FIRST TA by nekrum30

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Transatlantic

We had a good CD- Ron Goodman and his staff was energetic like Martin (the Pop choir director), Debbie and Marvin, lots of laughs and doubled as Zumba instructors.  We are not foodies, but appreciated the quality.  They try to be varied but 17 days gets monotonous.  We were glad after 7 days at sea for a change of scenery and tastes.

They offer plenty of options of entertainment and packages and I will use them again, My only gripe is sauna and steam room is available only with spa package.

The ports, all new to us, were fine except for the distance between the port to town.  Although Princess offered a shuttle, there was a fee, people opted for cabs rather than wait on line.  Cartagena  was a gem. Marsielle was a nice surprise.  Gibraltar had fog and rain. Madeira and Palma had beautiful gardens and tiles. Toulon we toured out of city. Barcelona bustling city.

Princess itself runs a tight ship, they seem to treat their service people well.

We had a issue with EZ air, our entire flight was rerouted and the upgrade we had paid for was not available for the new flight. Longer lay over, mechanical delay ruined a really nice cruise.  Our pick up at the airport was not available at the later time, we spent $50. more for another car service. Princess said they will refund us the difference between business and economy seating ($178.pp), I think they owe us more and will continue to ask questions.

Excellent Trip by gbelz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We very much enjoyed all aspects of the trip.  Probably our favorite was participating the "The Voice of the Ocean".  Performing on the stage in the Princess theater was a memory we will never forget.  The ship is beautiful and it took the entire 17 days to learn where everything was.  We were specially impressed by the silence in our cabin, no sounds of our neighbors or the nearby elevators.  We also liked the anytime dining and always chose to join others, thereby meeting many interesting and enjoyable people.

We look forward to our next Princess cruise.

Great Cruise by mikebeck

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Transatlantic

This was our first cruise longer than 14 days and it was wonderful. The port selection was perfect. Unfortunately we did not get to Monte Carlo due to weather conditions, so we went to Marseilles twice. Also, Gibraltar was a little fogged in. The weather was better than expected overall. The food and entertainment was very good.Happy

Flawless cruise! Wonderful vacation! by lisetremblayns

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We had a wonderful time cruising the eastern Caribbean on the Royal PRincess! Beautiful ship, fantastic service, great food, great show, very good excursion! We were please with everything! Our room attendant Albert was the best! I would have taken him back with me if I could! The average age of the passenger was quite old but it had his bénéfices like swimming by myself in the beautiful pool! Who would have thought with 4000 passengers! We never felt crowded! There was always plenty of longes chairs! Overall, Princess is so well organisé and professional!

We gonna go back as soon as we can!!!

It was nice ! by irmast

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Everything was O.K. except our view from balcony (was obstructed !!!)

We were not informed that you automatically charge tips for service.

-So we tipped very well our service people last night of cruise.  -Then in the morning just before departure  - we find your statement and realized that you

did take our money for all tips.  It was not right because I believe that all

gratitude's is costumer decision but not  company the service people works.

You - guys should pay this nice people more and leave tips for costumers.

I do not regret my tips for our service people - they deserved and I'm happy to make them HAPPY, but I regret that I let you cheat on me !!!

Best Regards,

-Irek Stypik

Great 10 days by mabdre

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I had an excellent time on the Royal Princess.  A great staff on board to make me feel right at home. Plenty of activities.  Several times I had to choose between two great options.  The activities were varied enough that we all had something to do and yet didn't have to all do it together.

Awesome 10-day Royal Princess Cruise by charlespichette

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

The entertainment was spectacular and we were very impressed with the cleanliness of the ship.  My husband has a very unique vegan diet and the head waiter, waiter, and assistant waiter made each night very enjoyable for the both of us.

Royal by jlucas5414

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

the ship was very nice. They did have the sky bridge out of service for the whole cruise. Working on it part time. I know they need to keep up on maintenance, which they did in several areas all at the same time. Non of which got finished in the 10 days. The food at horizon court was not hot. Barely warm enough to eat. I was a bit concerned as there should have been temperature checks like land based buffets. 6 back to back port calls was a bit tiring.

Only complaint was with the booking, not the cruise. by msull0217

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The cruise was very nice.  The food was good and the service was excellent.  My only complaint came from being told by my booking agent that I'd have $350 in onboard credit, but only receiving $175 upon arriving on the ship.

Annual spring cruise on Princess by JohnPringle

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We have done this cruise the past few years and always enjoy it.  We really liked the Beatle group, Travis Turpin, and the live entertainment.  The food in the Horizon Court was great.  The dining room selections did not appeal to us and we only went to the dining room 1 night.

Please see our comments about the movies under Entertainment.

10 Night Southern Caribbean Medley by normandpyle

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We enjoyed the itinerary very much, as it was a good mix of ports and scenery. Having 2 sea days at the end was a nice way to relax before getting back to reality. The staff was excellent and the food delicious!  We felt that the layout of the Royal Princess was easy to navigate and everything was well marked.  Certainly this cruise has our recommendations.

Great by LuvtocruiseI

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

All of the cruise was wonderful, the entertainment, the food, the service, everything.  The service was excellent, Room steward always there for answers, used room service and that service as also very good.  Entertainment in the Princess theatre was short, no shows were over 45 minutes.

10 Night Southern Caribbean Medley by jengel1946

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

The ship was clean and well configured.  Staterooms were very nice and balcony was used often.  I missed educational classes that might include the history of the islands, the cultures and people.

Excellent Caribbean Cruise by CruisinDog

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We did this 10 day cruise to the Caribbean in February.  We went to the Princess Cays (private beach... very nice and relaxing), St. Thomas, Dominica, Grenada, Bonaire and Aruba.  The weather and seas were fabulous the entire trip. My favorite stop was Bonaire. This is a small island with only about 19000 people, but the best part is the snorkeling. All the waters surrounding Bonaire are a Marine Sanctuary and it shows. Simply incredible snorkeling and diving here!
