Review summary

The Cruise was amazing, but the land tour portion was awful. The fire at Denali started a waterfall of issues for all of us on land, but I can handle unforeseen disasters. The food options were limited and terrible. I’ve done Princess land tours before and my expectations were very high, this fell way short. The lodges were uncomfortable and felt out of date, the staff couldn’t answer simple questions, and then they were too overwhelmed with irate customers displaced from the fire to help anyone. I might cruise Alaska again, but I will not sign up for the land tour.

The dog sled excursion was a lot of fun. We let the kids go back aboard and we hung out at the Red Dog Saloon before the ship left port.

We saw whales right at the beach area. My kids loved looking for crabs and starfish. Such a small port, but we made the most of it.

This was mostly fine; however, it’s a low score because I paid for my youngest to have his own seat on the bus to the airport but we were asked to place him on our lap so someone else could have his seat. I don’t know how so many people miscounted for the transfer but they did. And no refund for him.
