Review summary

The Royal needs some love. You can see where the salt air has taken its toll.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Even though we were in a suite there was not any type of priority other than the green lane. There was a lot of walking through the terminal in Vancouver to get to the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was good but some of the options were limited and not as good as I have had in the past.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
There were many things to do however, they didn’t seem to have many bingo sessions or regular trivia sessions.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
This was all amazing!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service was amazing! We were called by our names by everyone and it felt like we were part of the family!!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship design had some challenges however it was always clean!!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This was a great cabin. Just a thought for people who get seasick, do not choose this cabin. You hear all the bumps and feel the swells more up in the front. Also, we were right above where they launched the lines from so we heard it all when coming into or leaving a port.

Ship tip

Make sure to reserve your dining ahead of time.

Disembarkation

This was a bit hectic in Whittier. We had Princess transfers so you think it would have been easy. In this port there are people going to hotels, hospitality areas, and the airport. There was not enough information provided about luggage and where or when to pick it up. We had to ask.

I take it that this was your first cruise? Don't choose that area again. If it wasn't, Google your cabin areas smarter. For all the other issues, seriously, Google, review are your options. Don't spend a lot of money, until you've done a lot of research
