Highly reccommended cruise, especially if you live in the Bay Area. Although we prefer the veranda, cruising can be an very affordable form of travel vaction without the need to pack and upack multiple time, grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning. We also highly reccommend the unlimited wifi, drink, specialty dining and pre-paid gratuity options.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
The drop off point was not made clear at Pier 27 (off of the Embarcadero). There is a huge loop for passenger drop off and bag check with a porter. Bigger suitcases won't fit trough the bag screening. It is also imperitive that you check in for the cruise on the Princess app early enough to receive the Medallion necklace in the mail or FedEx. It was very helpful to be in the "green" status on Ocean Ready.

Food and Dining
4 out of 5
There was some confusion on the first night with reservations so it is important that you have the Princess app downloaded to get reservations for the first night in either Allegro or Concerto. If you do not have reservations, Symphony is available for walk-ins with the same menu.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We didn't participte in any on board activites other than the fitness center and walking loop which was great. We had good weather the entire cruise to Mexico and return.
Entertainment
We didn't attend any shows. If you have AT&T cellular, you will have excellent coverage in all of Mexico, but not at sea.
Children's Programs
No children in our party.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Exellent service as always on Princess.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
It takes a day to get familiar with the layout, but it works out well.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The queen bed was comfortable and clean. The motion sensor activated lights beside the bed is helpful. The motion sensor activated light near the bathroom stays on too long at night.
Ship tip
Deck 15 is a great location for access to Horizon buffet and aft deck on deck 16 and fitness on 17. All 3 dining rooms are down on deck 6.
We live in the Bay Area and have always wanted to cruise out of SF. Very convenient. The SeaView Bar has an excellent view of the city prior to and during departure.
PV is no longer a quanit little town. Take an excursion if you kind find one of interest. We simply took a long hike to the Sheraton and back. At least the weather was awesome.
We went to Playa Audiencia which was close (20 minute, $10 cab) but very crowded being a national holiday. We should have gone to Playa La Boquita further away per cab driver who came back for us at an agreed time.
Beautiful harbor/anchorage which requires a shuttle to the dock. 20 minute walk to beatufil Playa Empacadora. I heard that the whale watching excursion was great. Luckily, we saw whales fluking from our veranda about 30 minutes after weighing achor outside Los Arcos.
The return morning was spectacular on the aft deck in port for breakfast. Very easy Express disembarkation. You can keep your bags with you until Express departure at 8:30 am.
