Our overall first Princess experience was good, but not great; if the price is right, we may try them again in the future, but maybe sail on another ship.
Embarkation

We had finalized everything in advance, so we were Ocean Ready, plus we had our medallions sent to us in advance.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
For complimentary dining, the food and food service overall was good, nothing too exciting; Alfredo’s was best of the lot for both quality and service. We otherwise had anytime dining and they failed miserably in service there: we sat for an hour (really) between salad an entree, leaving just as the entree was about to be delivered. The Head Waiter found us at Alfredo’s the next night, invited us back and sent a bottle of wine to our cabin. We planned on avoiding the DR, but went back on the last night. Service was definitely better, but the food was just...dinner. As for specialty dining, we ate at the grill and enjoyed it; the service and food were worth the cover charge.
Alfredo's Pizzeria
5 out of 5
Best complimentary dining option we’ve experienced to date on any sailing. Has table service with mostly pizzas on the menu, but a few other entrees along with salads and desserts.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
As with all cruises, there’s plenty to do, if you want to do it. We’re not super active, so no direct reports on experiences there.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The production numbers were good, the international one was kinda hokey tho. The magicians Brent and Sarah were awesome, and the comedian, AJ Jamal was hilarious.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Aside from the failing the night in the Anytime DR, service was great.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Didn’t care much for the layout, just seemed like a big hotel, which I guess it is. Design/color scheme was nice, though. And the ship was clean throughout.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The cabin was a decent size, but it’s rectangular: long and narrow, with a small-ish balcony. We’re used to the Jr Suites on RCCL, which are more like a square, with a larger balcony, both in width and depth. Cabin was very clean and refreshed twice daily. Bathroom was kind of small. Upside to the cabin: the closet fronts the bathroom door, so night time trips to the lav didn’t light up the whole cabin.
Ship tip
There is minimal to no bar service in the show room; if you’d like a drink, be sure to grab one on your way in!
Sounds like they had a miscommunication during that hour-long wait between salad and entree. Obviously it was not the norm since all the rest of your meals didn't have that problem. MDR is not fast food but they don't take an hour between courses unless something strange happened. I would have asked what was going on at about 15 minutes rather than wait an hour then leave being upset. Anyone can make a mistake. Glad to read they tried to make it up to you. If they only make one mistake a cruise I would still call that good service. Glad you had a good time otherwise.
