Review summary

Got food poisoning. (I found out when I got home another family my boyfriend knew also got food poisoning on this ship.) The food was terrible everywhere and everyone kept complaining. I should have known it was bound to happen. Ship was constantly moving and the crew boasted that they don't use the stabilizers in a presentation we watched! You could hear everything banging around in the dining rooms. Clothes were swinging in the closet and we had a room midship. The A/C didn't work in our room for a 1 1/2 days. Going out to Cabo in the little ships took forever to board and unboard while you sat in a tiny boat with no air flow. So you were forced to sit there and sweat. The service was terrible in the dining rooms and buffet. We even had to get our own water multiple times in the buffet because there was no wait staff around. Stay away from this ship unless you want to pay them to poison you.

I call "fake news" Was on here and though not overwhelmed with the sit down dinner. The buffet was amazing(can't believe I said that about a buffet) A server was there with a drink or coffee immediately. I also certify restaurants food safety and would challenge your food poisoning claim.

We’ve been on 12 Princess cruises. The Royal is our favourite ship. The food and service are outstanding! The shows are incredible. Can’t wait to go again. Last cruises were from Vancouver to Sydney, Australia, 32 days, and from Fort Lauderdale into the Caribbean and around South America up to LA. 49 days. Absolutely NO complaints, and I tend to be a bit negative at times.

We were on the same cruise, same date. We had excellent food all meals, all venues. The seas were calm with low 70’s for the entire cruise. The staff was excellent and friendly every where we went. We liked it so much we booked another cruise on the Royal for this May.

Unbelievable review, this is one of the top Medallion Class Ships with Princess, never did we have any of the above problems you say...how many cruises have you been on?..i call this review a load of rubbish...again, unbelievable..

Oh my gosh such a nasty review! "Nobody speaks English" just mean and nasty. Sorry you had a bad time but you chose this trip and ship. Such a negative Nancy.

Hundreds of passengers must have eaten eggs from the same pan and only 2 got sick? Wow!!!

One review, zero cruises, zero other posts. Not exactly credible. Trollers gonna troll ...

When leaving a review, please remember to provide context and more details. Was this your first cruise? You don't show any cruises to include this one in your profile and difficult to lend any credit to the review. If said eggs were contaminated more than two would get ill if it were the buffet but we shouldn't have to guess or assume.

I couldn’t disagree more with this review! Was just on the Royal in October and did not see any of these issues. We liked it so much that we are going back in November! The ship is going to have some movement, it’s on the ocean so that should be expected at times. I liked that they had hand washing stations when you walked into the buffet, they even had a crew member standing there at busier times to make sure people were washing their hands. Cruising isn’t for everyone, but we sure enjoy it.

I agree with golfermike. Other reviews of the exact same sailing posted nothing similar to the things mentioned in this review. If it is true, some of the issues mentioned are normal to all cruise ships. Any cruise ship will have movement if the seas are rough. On our November cruise we had to remove the unused hangars from the closet due to them rattling at night.

With all the move ment of the ship I would think ,sea sickness, motionsickness, not food poisoning.E ggs swimming in, their own juice? Probably steam, from steam table. Hair everywhere, well every one now days using extensions.Mold. ,on the shower curtains ,well that's another thing, yet I have never seen mold in our showers.Perhaps you were mistakened on all these problems,if not I am so sorry that you had to experience all of this, hopefully next cruise will be better!

This is a bogus review, can't believe they were even on a cruise ship much less the Royal.
