Review summary

For me, stepping onto a cruise ship is liking walking into a wonderland. It's a place with magical spaces: lively music, beautiful decor and smiling faces from around the globe. It's like a floating storybook with a happy beginning, middle and ending.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Much faster than I expected. Very pleased.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We really enjoyed our dinner at Crown Grille and at Sabatinis. The service at both was excellent. The specialty seafood/sushi was delicious but service was not always easy to get. I was very pleased with the lovely people who came around with the coffee and juice in the Horizon Court. Very quick!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Not enough variety with the activities on sea days. They seemed mostly focused on spa and shopping. We did like the trivia in Princess Live. Matt O is a fun, funny cruise director. Would have liked more music theme nights.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The mariachi band was the best on board. They played frequently and worked hard. The comedian was good (AA Jamal). The musical with the puppets (Silk?) was enjoyable but not exceptional.

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Most staff were very good. A few were good but seemed unhappy. And some were excellent. Eva who organized the groups in preparation for the excursions was clear and thorough with the information she gave. Heloisa in Alfredo's was very nice and charismatic. Alex in Sabatinis was professional, friendly and offered perfect service. Spa service was good but frosty if you aren't wanting to spend out on extras.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful design and great use of piazza. Everywhere was clean, which considering the amount of people and activity going on, is a tremendous job! Could have used more sport areas or have the pickle ball court made multi-purpose. How about some roller skating?

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Smaller than we expected. Mostly clean. Very comfortable.

Ship tip

Take time to explore the ship.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

5 out of 5
We did an excursion that took us from the ship to the airport, stopping at Venice Beach and Santa Monica. Our tour guide was friendly and informative. Our tour driver, Brittany made driving in LA look easy. A very pleasant way to extend our vacation and get to the airport.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

4 out of 5
We went on Cabo by Land and Sea tour. The sea part was fine. The land part was a bit rushed. We stopped at the Mona Lisa resort which seemed like a waste of time. The view was great but the time it took to get there and the busyness of the resort made it unpleasant. Would have preferred to have spent that time at the last stop, San Jose.

Mazatlan, Mexico

5 out of 5
This off the beaten track trip to Concordia offered a great view of the countryside and a couple small villages. Our stops were well timed and our tour guide was efficient. Driver was excellent.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
This was our best excursion. The trip was lead by Jesa. His extensive knowledge and kind demeanor really made the trip a great experience. The tour was well timed, the sites were interesting and the food at the end was delicious. I would highly recommend this tour.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Eva made sure we all knew what to expect and what to do as we prepared to disembark and join our excursion to the airport. Everything went smoothly.
