Review summary

Great embarkation, good food, fun ports, but not so great disembarkation.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
All of the people were really nice and we got to our room immediately.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The buffet was amazing! So many choices. The main dining rooms were good. We had anytime dining, so we alternated between the two main dining rooms. We tended to eat late, since we were so busy having fun during the day. We didn't eat at a specialty restaurant, but we went to the British pub day and it was okay. We also went to tea at 3pm a couple of times. The scones are heavenly!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We mostly walked around and shopped.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I peeked in on the production shows. They were OK. I wasn't really in the mood for shows, so I can't really be a good judge. The piano player late at night the last night in the upper part of the atrium area was awful and super loud. That was the only negative about the whole cruise.

Children's Programs

No kids.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All staff was very helpful and friendly throughout the ship.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
I wasn't as big of a fan of the design of this ship as I was the Ruby Princess, or the Emerald Princess. It felt closed-in, and not as much open deck space available in convenient locations. The ship was clean and well-maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We were upgraded to a deluxe balcony (E331), which was nice. It was on the Emerald deck, so it was an obstructed balcony. The lifeboat blocked the view looking down, but one could look straight out and see the water or land or whatever there was to see.

Ship tip

Take a really long cruise or you will never see the whole ship!

Ports of call

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

5 out of 5
Nice port. We had to wait 2 hours for a tender, so not as much time there as we would have liked.

Mazatlan, Mexico

5 out of 5
We took a tour around the city on a bus that we found once we got off the ship, in the shopping area where you first get off. It was fun.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
We shopped in Walmart first thing. Then we took a taxi for a two hour tour of the city. The driver let us off in all the main sights and came back around to get us in whatever amount of time we designated. He was great! We paid $40 for the two hours for two people. I don't know if that was a good amount or not.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
We got into port early, and they basically kicked us off the ship really early. My worst disembarkation yet (5th cruise on Princess).
