Review summary

This cruise was from Buenos Aires to Santiago with a post tour to Machu Pichu. The cruise itself was great but the post tour was the best tour we’ve experienced in large part due to the preparation, knowledge and experience of the guides.

Embarkation

Went smoothly once we located the terminal

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main dining room was good. I do think that the quality of Princesses food and cooking has declined in recent years. The buffet doesn’t appear to have declined though.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The ships singers and dancers were overall the best that we’ve experienced. The dance bands were average.

The balcony on the trip around South America was worthwhile

Puerto Madryn, Argentina

Enjoyed the penguins and ranch barbecue

Port Stanley, Falkland Islands

1 out of 5
Weather kept us from visiting the Falklands and apparently that is a common occurrence.

Cruise Cape Horn

4 out of 5
Very nice. It would have helped to have advanced notice as to which side of the ship would be facing the Isle of Horn

Ushuaia, Tierra Del Fuego, Argentina

4 out of 5
Hiking excursions. Interesting but demanding.

Punta Arenas, Chile

Cruise Amalia Glacier

Santiago. Chile

Nice city tour

Pisco, Peru

5 out of 5
We took the optional tour to Machu Pichu. The trip was fabulous and the guides were the BEST. That tour by itself would have made the entire trip worthwhile.

Callao (Lima), Peru

Lima was part of our Machu Pichu excursion. The guides were wonderful!!

Agree with the MDR menu, every time a new menu comes out, it is cheaper tasting in many of the dishes. I think the buffet is a bit better, we eaten lunch there more often on the last two cruises than in the past. Looking forward to October.
