Review summary

This was our first cruise to Mexico and we were pleasantly surprised. Friendly people and lovely country. Princess always does a great job.

Embarkation

First time to this port and we found it a bit hectic and chaotic. Need clearer directions for passengers new to this port.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food very good in most cases. Great service. Lots of variety.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Adult pool nice. Walking/running track good for some exercise. Interesting lectures.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Wonderful shows. Princess does a great job. Really enjoyed the "Encore" show.

Children's Programs

No kids.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Great service. Felt like we were well taken care of.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
We were on the Royal last year and found it very clean and well maintained once again. The layout of this and other newer Princess ships is a bit confusing. Miss the promenade that the older ships have that allows outdoor walking around the entire ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
All good. More than enough space since we were not in the cabin that much. Too much to do to sit in the cabin anyway.

Ship tip

If you want a lounger at the adult pool get there early.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California Did not visit port

No interest.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Excursion was a city highlights one and it was good. Overall this area seems too touristy. Not into the party/drinking scene.

Mazatlan, Mexico

4 out of 5
City highlights excursion once again. Very good. Beautiful church. Lovely area.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

City highlights excursion yet again. Very good. Beautiful older city area, church and walkway along the water. Our favorite port.

Disembarkation

Easy. Fast.

Agree on the promenade, but it looks the bigger/newer ships are getting rid of that “wasted” space. 165 days until we board for the Sea of Cortez.
