The Royal Princess is a lovely ship with plenty to do and lovely staff. The food is excellent. Our one gripe was that this was a 7 night cruise and was labelled as 2 formal nights. For some reason this turned out to be only 1 formal night. The second time Princess have done this to us, really annoying when the ladies have purchased dresses for the occasion.

First time in an inside cabin. The room is spacious, being the same size as an ocean view, and has the same facilities, apart from some daylight.
Really lovely island. Visited Oia by boat and bus back to Fira. The only ways down to the port are by cable car, donkey or walk. The cable car had a massive queue and we would not use the donkeys on principle (although they did appear well cared for). Opted for the walk which is pretty steep and has a large amount of donkey droppings.
We were intending to go further afield but one of our party was not feeling too well. We decided to just have a walk around Messina. We docked at 1200 and once off the boat found that the shops all shut at 1330 until 1630. A little disappointed.
Unfortunately I can only give this a rating on our day there. It rained, and when I say it rained it was bouncing. We were intending going to Pompeii and Herculaneum but within 10 minutes of being off ship we were wet through, despite umbrellas and a coat. Had a visit to a nearby cafe before going back on board and having a drink and game of Pictionary. That proved fun after a few drinks!
Told reason by customer services was due to some ports having a later time of departure and people wanting time to get ready. My response was the times were the same as when we booked some months earlier and no notice given until on board.
I agree with you. If the ship shows two formal nights, they should adhere to that plan. I've never had that issue on Princess. Sorry that happened to you, but I hope you wore your second dress anyway.
