Review summary

3 of the ports were changed after we booked our cruise. Understandable in some cases (cancelled our stop in Turkey) but just unknown to me as a first time cruiser that this happens! Besides that, gorgeous ship, incredible staff, fun shows and entertainment, amazing spa and spa treatments, delicious food and cocktails. No disappointments here!

Ports of call

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

Santorini, Greece

Oia (the town with all the blue and white buildings) is actually a bit far to get to. Take advantage of the services offered locally from local vendors offering a speed boat trip or bus tour to get there, otherwise it can be a little challenging. Don't go too early in the morning, there is absolutely nothing open and not much to do!

Kotor, Montenegro

Corfu, Greece

We booked an excursion. If you don't have an excursion booked or find some mode of transportation, there is likely not much for you to do.

Messina, Sicily

Boring port. Not much to do, too modern.

Portoferraio, Elba

Don't bother booking an excursion, PLENTY to do in the port area if you don't mind walking.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

Thanks for sharing your cruise.

Where did you go instead?

I think maybe it was just the geographical factor. It's probably that Malta and turkey are in the other direction from Montenegro and Corfu. Though obviously I don't know this for a fact, it's just speculation!

We were on cruise too - yes , disappointed not to get to Turkey - but understand the high safety issues! First cruise - won't be the last!
