Review summary

Holland America. Ms Rotterdam. Last time on this ship for sure. It is falling apart. Hot water for showers iffy. Then only hot water in the sink at times. Door shut one night when my husband went out on the veranda to watch passing ships and it locked him out. I was downstairs and we were in the North Sea. He did not have a jacket on because he did not plan on being there long. Windy and cold. He was out there for over an hour til I came up. Freezing! I was mad!!!!! What if we had BOTH gone out there. He could not get the attention of the people on either side. We would have been out there all night til the cabin stewart came to clean the room. We went right down and told the service desk. I told them this should not be able to happen. They said they would check the door. The night before we left I went out and when I turned the handle and pulled the door open to come back in the handle came off in my hand!!! I grabbed the door before it closed. Toilet would sometimes flush and sometimes not. Tub was grungy. Last time on this ship for sure. It is falling apart. Hot water for showers iffy. Then only hot water in the sink at times. What if a couple of 85 year olds had gotten caught out there in the North Sea all night? Or if a guest was alone and got caught? Nobody to know they were out there. Some sort of alarm would be good. Never heard a word from Holland America.o, no more MS Rotterdam for me. Too old! I emailed the head office and warned them of the danger of guests being locked out.
