Exceeded our first time cruise expectations by miles. Awesome ship, amazing crew and fantastic independent excursions.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Ran very smoothly and professionally. Had covid testing tent set up and texted us once results were in (about a half hour).
Ship experiences
Onboard Activities

Pool smaller and cold but nice comfy lounge chairs and sofas. Excellent fitness center though we didn’t use it. Spa, sauna, steam room also very nice.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff is what makes Oceania stand out from the other cruise lines. They are exceptional! From the outstanding stewards kateryna & Steven who were efficient, friendly and thorough to the wait staff that placed our napkins in our laps. The staff/crew was so nice & friendly and was at our beck and call. Mykiel on deck 12 was very attentive to passengers needs as were all the crew. We will miss them!
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We were in cabin 9136 with veranda concierge lounge and guest laundry. It was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Shower (optional rain) and bath with shower. All bulgari soaps, shampoo, lotions etc. we were provided with terry cloth bathrobes and slippers. Our fridge was always stocked with soda & water. We felt very pampered to have our room immaculately cleaned 2x/day and turned down for the evening with chocolates on our pillows along with the latest news and itinerary for the next day. It was amazing! Thank You Oceania
Ship tip
Pack lightly and use laundry services. They are on most all decks.
We did the dolphin discovery at chankunaab park and it was amazing. We later saw that they had it in Costa Maya and was so glad we had done it in Cozumel because the area for dolphins was sooooo small. It made us angry and sad for dolphins. We spent day at chak park so didn’t get to city. Park good if you have kids also.
We walked around the city. It was a laid back Sunday with less traffic and people. We felt safe walking around. We found a church having a service. We found cheapest beer & booze at Chinese run store on Fort st. We saw many security throughout town who talked with us and were very nice. We ate lunch at Martha’s cafe-very good food and view. Barron bliss lighthouse was junky though.
Port is just industrial with lots of cranes. Definitely want to do an excursion. We did Go With Gus Rio Dulce river tour. It was a great tour. Lasted 4 hrs and then we got back on ship.
Port is 3rd world dump. Do an excursion. We went to manawakee park to hold sloths and monkeys and got tour of west end and west bay. Way overrated. Kinda junky. Oh ya, didn’t feel that safe in port. Keep your jewelry/passport at the ship.
Thanks for the review. Not sure what you are looking for in a port. You complained about Third World Dumps / Industrial Ports and also Corporate Port / Tourist Trap. That is what most Caribbean reports are going to be.
