RCL MUST up their game by bohrerlaw

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I'd been to the Caribbean many times, but this itinerary is, by far, the best I'd been on, which is why I chose it. It took care of all the parts I'd never been to. The ship is beautiful and well maintained, even though it's smaller than others I'd been on, meaning less to do on the ship, but, ...a) you're not on the ship that much, and...b) I really wanted to rest. The ship filled my purposes more than adequately. The minuses were evident. a) Food- sub par. Beautifully presented, but lacked taste. The desserts LOOKED great, but lacked taste...same with the main meals. While there was abundant CHOICES, all the CHOICES were available ALL the time; thus, it got redundant. Switch it up a bit, please. - b) By far, the low point of the cruise was the entertainment. Sub par bands, comedians, etc. - I would rate the entertainment on board as the lowest I've experienced. Sorry guys, but, I dont know if it's cost-cutting but you've GOT to up your game here. As I said above, I chose this cruise because of the itinerary, and boy, I was NOT disappointed. You really get to see a lot. Onboard, I spent most of the days in the adult indoor pool - VERY relaxing. Staff -as I said above, staff & service were the best I've seen -much better than my other RCL cruises and just as good as Holland's. One more thing - if you get a chance to get a good deal on internet - TAKE IT ! The onboard prices are ridiculous; the internet costs more than the cruise base price itself- (yes, really !) In short, very few hiccups on the cruise. Were it not for the entertainment issue, I'd give it a A-plus. Service and ports were the highlights.

Great Itinerary by Anne3Bill

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Great port intensive cruise. Would have preferred a different port than Trinidad but mostly because it takes way to long to get anywhere by vehicle.

Great itinerary on a dated ship. Horrible food. by USCruiserFromNC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The destinations made the cruise. The ship was dated. The cabin was very dated. The food in all of the "sit down" restaurants was poor. Nothing (food-wise) was exceptional and the meat dishes were terrible. I paid for the 3 meals in specialty restaurants - the food was no better there. The food in the buffet met expectations and was better. The ship started in Haifa and a good percentage of the cruisers were Israeli. A good percentage of them were rude and annoying to be around. US and Western European potential passengers should be aware of this prior to booking any cruise out of Haifa. The crew on the ship was very, very good.

Fantastic Experience by SSFamilyCruise

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The cruise was wonderful, the food delicious and plentiful, and overall it was a great experience. There was a rocky start because of an issue regarding kosher food, but we were impressed by how quickly the cruise staff solved the problem. We enjoyed our time on the ship. We took this cruise with our parents and siblings. We also recommended it to friends and ended up with a whole bus going on the cruise from our neighborhood. It was very enjoyable for all of us. We are already planning our next one! If the price remains competitive and kosher food is included, Royal Caribbean will have repeat customers!

Overall Enjoyable Taste of the Mediterranean on an Older Ship by elemuu

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Overall nice experience. I had expected more in terms of quality for food and entertainment. But ultimately for this particular cruise, you're constantly on and off the ship anyways. Some of the ports are underwhelming but it's nice to have plenty of options for things to do on ship as well. Staff is incredibly friendly and overall everything felt pretty well organized and efficient.

The cabin that we upgraded was terrible!!! every thing else (good or bad) was negligible. by levitzky

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Don't choose a cabin on 8th floor (under the public area) and have a cruise on the new generation of ships.

Italy, Turkey and Greek Islands in a week by EllenWest

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Overall enjoyed the cruise but struggles with lost luggage crowded much of our time. Guest services did everything within their power to help locate it, but as of this date it is still missing.

Nice West Mediterranean Cruise by carloscuervo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

-I called from the cabin multiple times to the Guests Relations Desk to ask information but nobody pics the phone, very frustrating. -The first day I requested an upgrade and the Guest Relations agent told me someone would contact me regarding this matter however, nobody cared to call me ever. -When dinning at a different time than the one scheduled was very difficult and painful, the agents in some cases were kind of rude. -It would have been nice to see a show related to the local culture from any of the countries we were visiting, like when we took the Baltic sea cruise, in Saint Petersburg we saw a Russian wonderful music and dance show.

Mediterranean Cruise Week Two of Two by WorldWalker

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Overall, it was a huge improvement over our first week. There seemed to be more staff. There was more attention to detail. Communication suffered in a few instances, but was also greatly improved over the first week. The ports of call were generally amazing and there was so much to see and do through the shore excursions offered. Our cabin steward and waiter were excellent and provided dedicated service that I greatly appreciated.

Perfect Itinerary by judyalline

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

It was very evident this was the first cruise for most of the staff because it showed in their disorganization and learning on the job although they were friendly and tried hard. The itinerary was excellent and the ship was small enough that we felt comfortable navigating it and finding things easily. Menu/food was not as enjoyable as I've had in the past and a number of the events listed in the program were not available because of short staffed.
