Really didn’t have a favorite part of the cruise, it was a younger crowd of Hispanics, which is normal taken off of San Juan, Puerto Rico, but when you’re used to being on a larger ship, and then go to a smaller ship, it really does make a difference

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
We ate every lunch in the windjammer, anytime dining in the evening, which was our 8 o’clock dining time. It would be nice if Royal would change the menu every so many years. Extremely understaffed, the wind jammer waiters weren’t very attentive. We tried to find a seat, dirty tables everywhere ,the staff would just be standing around. it seems like in the larger ships, they be more tentative. The Stafford constantly be cleaning around the tables vacuuming just making the place look nice not in this case.. in the main dining rooms, the tables are so close together you would literally have to go around the room just to be able to leave the room.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
On a smaller ship, there really isn’t much to do, we had three rainy days and I think I watched a movie, not much for the teenagers, because they would be hanging out and sitting on the steps and you had a hard time getting through the area. It’d be nice if they would like to have shows or movies or programs on the big screen and set up the same commercials every day. Didn’t go to too many activities because our app was not working properly on the ship.
Service and Staff

The front desk/service desk was very accommodating. When you did wait in line, it seems like it went very fast and answered all the questions that you had. The waiters were running around the chicken with the heads cut off because I had just so many tables I think you’d get better quality service with less tables.
Ship Quality
1 out of 5
I’m going to repeat myself, the bigger ships you’ve constantly seen people clean. Maybe because of lack of help, it was very dirty it needed the sweeper needed to run more than once a day. The bathrooms are filthy. thing I would’ve wish that they would have a separate entrance from the pool to go to the bathroom instead of going into the hallways and eating area.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
We stayed in a junior suite, balcony cabin, it was nothing larger than a normal balcony cabin, but with a bathtub, I think they tried to cut corners and to place the bathtub in the bathroom. They cut counterspace and very small sink. Safe to not work, we had to call many times, but they were right on top of things, no plug-ins but that’s because the ship was old. The phone did not work. It kept falling off the wall and the room had a coffee pot, which didn’t work properly. we thoroughly enjoy hanging out the balcony in the age of the ship you could notice quite a bit the balconies were rusted and very dirty in the doors. Just need a good cleaning or spray down.
Ship tip
Try not to compare this ship with your larger ships, there’s no comparison
I wasn’t too sure if there was paper Trail, as in maps and things to do on the island because our app was not working properly and we had no idea where to go and we’re not go
We walked from the pier to a extremely small shopping area spent maybe 15-20 minutes walking around that and there was nothing else to do and again there’s no maps that was available for it on the ship to see what we can do
Sorry you didn’t enjoy your cruise. I think we are going to try smaller ships for a while due to the inflated cost of the newer, bigger ships. Smaller ships also have some fantastic itineraries.
I agree with javawoody, I like the smaller ships. We just got off the HA Volendam a few days ago and it was in great condition and the staff and food were excellent. It’s only a 61,000 t ship and the oldest in the HA fleet launched in 1998 but it’s very clean and well maintained. This smaller ships give you a more traditional type cruise and tends to be quieter and more socially inclusive.
