For this cruise to be our honeymoon, we were extremely disappointed. We feel it was false advertising based on what we paid when we booked the cruise. We voiced our concerns to guest services while on board and were given no input or reasons as to why things were changed. We enjoyed the excursions and the service workers, but the food, people on board, and disembarkation were a nightmare. For what we paid for this trip, it was a waste of money and we would not recommend.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
It was very hot, there was no clear organization to dropping off luggage, and people working were very rude.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
It was advertised as having several speciality restaurants, and once on board we found out they had all been converted to Kosher. Food on the buffet line did not align with the 5 star reputation that Royal Caribbean has. People would shove to get plates and eat directly off the buffet without serving tools. The quality of food served was horrible and there was no sense of orderliness during meal times.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Though there were two pools, both were very small in comparison to how many people were on board. There was a plethora of places to lay out in the sun, and this was something we enjoyed. We also enjoyed the outdoor walking track. There was a team of activity directors that made sure there was always something to do.
Entertainment
We did not attend any of the shows.
Children's Programs
We do not have children.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
We loved our stateroom attendant, coffee barista, and wait staff at the dining hall.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
The ship was very old and internet only worked part of the time. Staff worked to keep dishes and trash picked up, but cruisers would leave them sitting around on whatever surface they could find.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Our interior room was smaller than anticipated. We would definitely recommend investing in a bigger cabin. Our stateroom attendant did a great job of keeping our cabin clean and orderly, and brought us ice daily. We were disappointed there was no mini fridge in the room when it was confirmed with us that we would.
Ship tip
Find a different cruise. We enjoyed the cruise excursions, but had too many negatives about the cruise ship to ever recommend it.
We also enjoyed our Athens stop. The 8 hour excursion was a little long and we were not prepared for the lack of food or water in the hot sun. We wish there had been a little more communication because it was a very long day without an opportunity to eat until the end. We still really enjoyed this excursion and saw lots of things while in Athens.
Santorini was beautiful, and we enjoyed our time there. Thought it was very, very crowded and did not know how to plan for wait times to get back to the ship.
Disembarkation was absolutely horrible. We arranged with the cruise to have transportation to the airport. We found out the morning of that it had sold out and they did not communicate it to anyone. Once getting off the ship, we were crowded and followed by a group of taxi drivers yelling at all of getting off the ship. They knew the trains and buses weren’t running and they could charge whatever they wanted to get people to the airport. This was incredibly poor planning on the cruise ship and is one of the main reasons we would not recommend this cruise to anyone.
